Guest guest
Hi folks, Look I think this theme is getting a bit too delicate.   If you want to discuss Biblical references and matters of faith, please take it off line or to another Board. Personally I love debate and inquiry of this kind, but I’m well aware from past interchanges that someone somewhere will get offended, and the Moderators will have to step in. I’d like to take it up with you too, Phil, but would only do so in personal email.  Please everyone.  Do drop the subject pretty quickly from the open List. Cheers, Ron. Subject: Re: Re: Question about faith (for AS) Hi Phil, I feel relief when I am certain that I am in the will of God- a personal reflection on my interpretation of your question. I also feel peace when i reflect on the fact that God is on control. I also feel peace as a result of praying and allowing myself to feel the peace that God gives me. If you write me off-list, I can give you the scriptural references to all of this. Reasoning logically is a major help to me as well, and when I feel overwhelmed, reminding me of facts helps me to focus and feel better. I have not found any contradiction between my faith and logic- but I do acknowledge that there are things I simply do not understand, because there are many possible solutions from where I see it, and I have no idea which of them is the " right " one, or if any of them are " right " - so I wait and don't really worry about it. If I thought there were no solutions, I might be more anxious about this. I listen to what others say, because that way, I can learn about them and be more effective in communicating to them and caring about them. I don't think I have answered all you have asked, but not too sure... I am curious as to what brings any on the list the relief that scott talks of? Is there relief in doing what YOU " think " is right or is there relief in doing what the Universal Creator tells us is right in the bible? I ask because there was a lot of stuff that I " thought " was right but have had pointed out as incorrect by being shown scriptures that say otherwise. I've stopped listening to what others think, I am only interested in what God has said. Or have I gone too far? Phil
