There are AS who do not have a significant amount of OCD, and there are AS who have a highly significant amount of it. There are AS who follow rules to feel secure, and there are AS who follow rules because that is where their level of discernment has taken them- some of us have difficulty in readjusting to changes in rules, and some do not. I think we are all a bit different from one another in this regard.For myself, rule-following is not a big deal to me now, but when I was a girl, or even a young adult (depending on what it was a rule about), it was more of a mainstay with me. I think that changing plans can be an area where rules make a difference to some people and not to others- as well as rules about dress or other areas of life.
