Guest guest
I'm curious if anyone here has contacted Mentor to let them know the valves on their implants were faulty. And if so, what the response was. KateDawn A <daldre@...> wrote: Thanks...I feel that I should do SOMETHING... I mean ... if I don't I am just another example of what implants can do to you that falls through the cracks. My concern also is that if Mentor knew that there were faulty valves...Did they advise the plastic surgeons not to use the defective ones? And if so, what date were they advised? The reason I bring this up is because Dr. Blais states that the implants were of late nineties manufacturing techniques, yet I was implanted in 2002. I wonder if my PS knew this and implanted me with a faulty device anyway. THAT is what I need to find out. Guest guest
Please let us know what Mentor has to say. . . My guess . . . a lot of nothing! But nothing ventured, nothing gained! At least they will know you had a problem. I'm sure the plastic surgeon won't report it! Ask for a form to send in reporting the problems. . . Please let us know what they say. . . Guest guest
Has ANYONE ever heard of a RECALL by Mentor (or anyone else) of their breast implants???. . . I'm assuming, with a recall, Mentor would pay to remove and replace a woman's implants, if there really was a recall!! Guest guest
Thanks. Like Dawn, I feel the need to to something. I thought some of the girls here had contacted Mentor and I wondered what the response was. Obviously they are fully aware that their implants are faulty, but if no one's informing them, they can claim they don't know. I already have the address and phone number. I don't mind contacting them if no one else has, not for myself so much. I'll do it in writing, though, as hopefully that'll get more of an official response. As far as them offering to pay medical expenses, etc. to keep us quiet, I doubt it. Anyway, there's nothing they could offer me that would compensate for what I've been through. I'm also thinking about writing to the FDA to see what they're doing about my MedWatch form--obviously nothing as with the rest of the forms they're sitting on. Guest guest
YES YES YES! Please - everyone fill out a MedWatch report. Also, contact Mentor and get your Mentor Product Evaluation Report. This is what Mentor fills out when you send them your ruptured implant. (If your doctor sent it to them. Start documenting ladies - we can all make a difference! Guest guest
You can try calling 301 827-6500 for Freedom of Information . . . and asking them about your MedWatch report! As well as all the other reports that appear to be going uncounted! Love, Rogeme --- Kate Lowe <lagarita120@...> wrote: > Thanks. Guest guest
Amazing . . . I wonder how many plastic surgeons told their patients their implants had been recalled.. . Interesting- the " FIRM estimated that 10 percent of implants remained on market " . Wanna bet they had the paperwork to back that up? This is the outfit that hid defective implants in the ceiling tiles when the inspectors came through!
