Which decongestants do you take? I don't want to take any with

Effedra(sp) which makes your heart start racing etc.

Thanks!

Hi Jen,

Mucinex is a great one! I swear by it. Along with the mucinex you can take motrin sinus, advil sinus or tylenol sinus. Different people are sensitive to different products though. If you are going to take this during the day and don't want to be tired, I would highly recommend taking the mucinex with motrin sinus. The mucinex helps to drain the fluid and the motrin relieves the pain. Tylenol sinus makes me very tired and anything advil related makes me depressed. People that suffer from depression are advised to stay away from any advil products.

When I had my sinus infection the mucinex seemed to helped better than anything as it allows all that conjestion to drain. I also took the motrin sinus as I'm able to still work while taking it. I doesn't give you that sluggish feeling.

I don't think that I've ever taken any decongestants with effedra in it. ?????

Hope you start feeling better soon!

Hi Jen,

Mucinex can be found in about any drug store. I get mine in Rite Aid. CVS also sells it. I don't know what area you live in but here in New Jersey we have Rite Aid's, CVS's and Walgreen's. They all sell it. Last time I bought it which was a while ago, it was 19.99. Make sure you get the regular Mucinex in the blue box not the Mucinex DM which helps with a cough. Unless you have a cough. I believe the DM comes in a green box. I know that what I took was not the Mucinex DM but the regular. No need to take something to treat a cough unless you have a cough.

Mucinex is guaifenisen. Guai has been used successfully to treat

fms. Dr. St.Amand works with this. THere are at least a few

websites dedicated to using guai. I personally know people have

gottenwell with it, but like everything else, I reacted very

strongly and have put that particular treatment on hold for awhile.

I will probably give it another try someday.
