Donna,

Thanks for your e-mail. It is truly a good ffeling to do something nice for someone. You are right that the girls are not related to us. They are my husband's dauther, 's, half sisters (although we refer to them ONLY as her sisters - I think it sounds awful to include the half when talking about them - I do it now only for clarification). They have different fathers. both of 's sisters have been involved inour lives to some degree. We've always had a soft spot for the older one who's now 14. She is such a sweet kid and her father is a worthless jerk who's in and out of jail and never pays child support. The younger one, who will be 11, next week was a really wild bratty kid when she was little. She has now turned into a really sweet kid. She at least has a dad who pays child support and buys her gifts at times, but he sees her maybe 2 hours out of a year even though he now lives in the same town. I have taken 's sisters shopping before and bought them clothes but it has never been my husband's idea and he's never gone with us. Unfortunately, 's older sister is now the same size as 's mom (size 3) so we're both sure that 's mom will be wearing the clothes. When I allow myself to think about that, it makes me mad so for the most part I just don't think about it. My husband said that he was going to say something to his ex about that the clothes were for 's sister and not for her. I told him to just forget about it, there is no point in saying anything and now (after her mother just died) is certainly not the time.

Anyway, we both did enjoy making and her sisters happy and as I said earlier they all three looked so pretty!

Hi ,

I am so sorry about 's grandmother. Our group seems to have so much illness and sad news at this time.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you what a jewel your husband is. Many fathers won't even take financial responsibility for their own children. It is awesome that he would take those girls and buy them clothes for their grandmother's funeral. You are also a jewel. If I understand your post, these girls are not related to you or your husband in any way. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you how special I think you both are. It really is more fun to give than receive, isn't it?

My 22 year old nephew died 10 years ago from an asthma attack. On his birthday and on Christmas, my brother and sister-in-law take someone in need shopping. They buy clothes, shoes, etc. to celebrate their son's life. So many people have been blessed by this, but it blesses them so much more. It has really helped in their healing from such an awful tragedy. Anyway, I have no idea why I told you that, but I just think what you did today was very special.

Take care, Donna
