Guest guest
I don't know anything about children but I can tell you that when I was on synthroid, my heart rate shot up to 100 and sometimes over, I felt like climbing the walls and just really jittery. Maybe he is feeling the same way, poor guy!
Guest guest
Sounds like me on Levoxyl. I couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. Cried and cried. And I am 32!Check his pulse, see if it is elavated. I would tell the doctor he is having side effects. He may not believe you...docs like to say that there are no side effects to synthetic hormones...if only that were true. This doesn't mean you are ODing him or making him Hyper. But some people this has an effect on them in this way, I am going to assume age does not matter in this way. I would call the doc and report it. > > 1) His appetite has decreased. I wouldn't call them normal, but I am certainly not an expert on thyroid care for an infact, nor is anyone else here, I think. Roisin, I would strongly recommend you find a doc in your area that is focused on good thyroid care, and I am not talking about an Endo. Have you checked out the Armour list, or the Top Doc lists in the LINKS section?? Where are you located so we can help you find a good doc. And trust your instincts on this. If it was me, and those symptoms started since he was introduced to Synthroid, I might decrease it a bit until I could get to a better doc fairly immediately. But that's not advice---it's only what I would do. Janie
