My Department is currently in the process of selecting a vendor for our new

CAD system, which will hopefully be up & working in the next year or so at

our two new dispatch centers. Several dispatchers (PSR's) who attended the

presentations were very impressed by a company called 'Printrak'. Is anyone

out there using their product? What are your thoughts on their system?

Thanks for the input.

We use Printrak and have for the last 4 years. I am not a dispatcher (I am

one of " them " - a manager) so I can't give you a dispatcher's perspective

but... Printrak's system is good. As always, our dispatchers have many

suggestions for improvements and one thing in Printrak's favor is their

responsiveness to our suggestions. We have, more often than not, seen many

of our suggestions included in in updated versions of their software.

Another feature that they do very well, and that our dispatcher's seem to

appreciate, is their tactical mapping.

We've recently upgraded to their most current version and Printrak's

intentions have been to use us for their west coast demo site. We've already

had Oakland PD over and, if LA is wants to see the system up and running,

we'll be seeing you, too.

P.S. - if you have any specific questions about the Printrak CAD, please feel

free to e-mail me at lisasccecc@.... If you'd like a dispatcher's

perspective, I can get that for you, too.
