Some mitigation on review: With research, it does appear that the practice does describe itself as primary care, not urgent care. It's in a town in another state where the patient also has a home, so they may have seen him as a local long-term patient. (So, no, I have no leverage.) And the patient did tell me, " Oh, I guess I should have told them that I have a doctor and have already had these tests done. " He did go back for the f/u visit, where he had redundant labs done. His Medicare Part D plan apparently had no problem with covering the Avelox. Still....
