Guest guest
Congradulations! . . . We have another winner! . . . It's always wonderful to know that another woman is getting better after getting those toxic bags removed! If women considering implants could only know how happy they will be to get rid of them. Guest guest
I too had CHD >>> Me too. Had 11 reconstructive surgeries prior to the THR and I let my ortho lengthen my leg during the operation. First few of months... 9 to be exact were rough but 2 revisions since and I'm "stable" not pain-free by any means but better then before so I'm not complaining. Some relief is better then none. Guest guest
Hello DisneyDeb, Your e-mail made my day. I am 40yo with bone-on-bone on my CDH hip and scheduled for LTHR on Dec12. I am starting to feel nervous and questioning my decision. Today I got locked at our daughter's birthday party as I was trying to stand up and that confirmed to me that it is time. But, I go through all sorts of emotions throughout the day. I am delighted to hear about your recovery. If yes, I would love to get it if you could e-mail it to me. Thank you again for your well wishes. Waiting is hard. Reading about how THR changes your life is what keeps me going. Guest guest
I remember the locking up of my hip joint, not fun at all. I was at work and couldn't move. My employer offered to pick me up and I said no way, it would just be too painful. I went for my one year check up with my OS today. I told him that I'm still in alot of pain from my hip down to my knee. He said the xrays look good and he couldn't see anything wrong. He also said the problem could be with my lower back. I have quite a bit of lower back pain. I find that after surgery, I'm not able to do as much as I was doing two years ago before this happened to me. I feel I've really aged, I'm 47 and I feel ten to twenty years older. I'm always tired. Any suggestions as to my pain after one year? Thanks, CarmelSheyla P <SheylaP1@...> wrote: Renazee,It was no fun getting locked in front of a bunch of people and not being able to move.I wish I could blink my eyes and be 6-mos post THR.Thank you for all your well wishes.Sheyla>From: <renazee@...>>Reply-Joint Replacement ><Joint Replacement >>Subject: Re: 2 weeks post op>Date: Sun, 13 Nov 2005 19:53:28 -0600>>Sheyla,> How well I remember all the locking up of my hip joints!!! Guest guest
Hello welcome to the group. Nice to read your experience about the trauma you have gone through. I have also got through this kind of similar experience since last 25 years and now last year go my bilateral THR done. Now I am feeling fine and attending to my normal duties with not much pain. But some limping remains. I have stopped all the medication. Prior to this I used to take Indomethacin since 1989. Thanks and will come soon. Guest guest
After my revison 1.5 yrs ago I couldn't stand straght, my ass always stuck out and my walk was choppy and was painful. Turns out my hip flexors were extreamely tight. After much PT it got better but never to the point I would consider normal, but then I started developing pain such as you describe. It was the same sharp pain in the upper/lower thigh that I felt when the original loosened. My doc thought it was my back, which was confirmed by a MRI. I had two Epidural injections which helped but were not %100, but worked well enough to convince me it was my back and not the new hip. I found that swimming helps alot as do the back excersizes. Now I just had my other hip done 4 weeks ago and although Im still on crutches I feel I can stand straighter and I have hope that I will have a normal gait once again. Though its too early to tell for sure, I think also my back pain will resolve itself, at least to the point its acceptable without additional surgery. 2 weeks post op> >> >> > hello - I am new to this group and wanted to share my experiences.> > I am 41 (42 on Monday) and was born with Congenital Hip Disorder and> > have always known I needed a THR.
