Guest guest
Hi Zanash, >Since the past month or so I have this blockage in my left ear >and the wax collects with the result I can't hear very well. >The ENT I've been going to says it is brought about maybe by >water going in the ear and getting infected I have a feeling >it might be due to the long term use of antibiotics. This happens a lot with swimmers or if you get water in your ear while showering. The water sits in the ear and bacteria get trapped in there. We have an alcohol-based product here which dries out the ear (feels good too) and prevents the problem. You also need to keep the earwax from building up and you can get wax-softening products to do this. No, I don't think it's anything to do with the antibiotics. It's simply water and wax staying in the ear. Chris.
Guest guest
I agree with Chris. The antibiotics would actually reverse the infection if you had one. As a child I had swimmers ear and I was given antibiotics and ear drops to eliminate it. You can make your own solution using rubbing alcohol and white vinegar, but I don't remember the ratio. I'm sure by now there are products like mentioned that will help. deano > From: " and Chas Adlard " <cadlard@...> > Reply-cadlard@... > Date: Mon, 23 Jul 2001 06:12:43 GMT > rheumatic > Subject: Re: rheumatic ear infection > > Hi Zanash, > >> Since the past month or so I have this blockage in my left ear >and the wax > collects with the result I can't hear very well. >> The ENT I've been going to says it is brought about maybe by >water going in > the ear and getting infected I have a feeling >it might be due to the long > term use of antibiotics. > > This happens a lot with swimmers or if you get water in your ear while > showering. > The water sits in the ear and bacteria get trapped in there. Guest guest
> You can make your own > solution using rubbing > alcohol and white vinegar, but I don't remember the > ratio. Half white kitchen vinegar and half rubbing alcohol. Tilt your head to fill the ear canal using an eyedropper. Then tilt your head the other way to let the solution pour out. If this irritates the skin of the ear canal, use half vinegar and half water. ~Bonnie ===== Bonnie Bonham GUILD CERTIFIED FELDENKRAIS PRACTITIONER(cm) learn to move with ease and elegance. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone had trouble with ear-infections. My son is on his second set of tubs and has just come down with another ear-infection. He has been taking anti virals for two months. I will call Dr. G. and make sure he can take the combination of medication. He has to have antibiotics. I am worried what will happen on the Famvir. My son's ped. of coarse has trouble buying into all of this. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks
Guest guest
Hi , When we first started the protocol 2 yrs ago, my son had tubes, so ears were not getting infected, but his sinus cavities were....over and over and over again. Like posted, keeping allergies under control will cut down on overall fluids in these cavities, as well as using a good antihistamine or antihistamine/decongestant for your child. DR Gs office staff has a list of suggested items to try. We tried them all!!! You never know what will be the best combo for your child. (we finally settled in with Ah Chew and Nasonex nightly) Also watching the diet is important. And we did do extended erythro last summer. EVERYONE PLEASE KNOCK ON WOOD....Jack just had a virus/cold, got very stuffy for a week, had a minor ear infection treated with ear drops, and NO sinus infection! 1st time in 3 yrs. > > Hi Everyone, > > I was wondering if anyone had trouble with ear-infections. Guest guest
My youngest son had his first ear infection at 2 weeks and two sets of tubes by the time he was three. After he had tubes, the ear infections stopped, but he then had back to back sinus infections. From the time he was born, he had literally been two weeks on an antibiotic, two weeks off, We started the protocal at the NY clinic in April. He had one sinus infection in May or June and that's it. He is still somewhat congested, but he's not getting the infections like he was. To give you an example of how much things have changed. The preschool teacher he had last year, before we stared the protocal, told me " I don't think I have ever seen him when he wasn't sick " . His teacher this year made the comment " I've never really seen sick " . Quite a change. -- In , dazseaton@a... wrote: > > Hi Everyone, > > I was wondering if anyone had trouble with ear-infections. Guest guest
How can I get rid of an ear infection without antibiotics?? I'm already on olive leaf and primal defense, but I need something more because I am really sick, have been for several days. I know it's gone to my ears because I have had a horrendous cough and terrible headaches that are now accompanied by pain in my ears and extremely painful neck, right under the ear. Thanks,
Guest guest
I still feel awful! My head aches horribly, but I have too much to do today so I am surviving on Advil. I did try putting a few drops of half water and half H2O2 in and it felt a little better afterwards, but I think Shari is right and it also has infected my sinuses. I have had chronic sinus infections over the past few years and I am really upset because I was so enjoying my new found health. <sigh> Thanks for all the help! Guest guest
, If you're using a 3% medical solution of H2o2, you can use it without diluting it. . . Don't use the kind of stuff used for hair lightening! . . . Much too strong. Hugs, Rogene --- ktitko <ktitko@...> wrote: > I still feel awful! Guest guest
kristen those infections just make you feel awful! I hope you feel better soon. I also thought about echinacea--I found some in Europe that knocked the heck out of a really nasty virus in a day. Here, I just buy the liquid as strong as I can get it and take it very very often. Also, I really like a product called Sambucol Elderberry extract. It is a liquid and it good for virus, colds, etc. Good luck Hugs, kathy > I still feel awful! Guest guest
Is the damage possible with just one or two uses or from prolonged use? A lot of things can cause damage with prolonged usage but not occasional use. I used it one time for an ear infection and it cleared up immediately. I have never used it since. Kenda I just wanted to add that I just looked again for this info and couldn't find it. But I found many sites recommending it. So now I really don't know where I found this article the first time but it kind of made me think that if it could damage the ear canal permanently I didn't want to do it. It is so frustrating when just about everything you find something positive about, you can find something negative too. That is why I generally check and recheck as much info as I can on a particular therapy. As long as I don't see the potential for serious consequences from trying something, I will usually give it a try. I did notice quite a burning effect when using hydrogen peroxide baths (with epsom salts) on my skin, so for me only, I would be hesitant to put it in my ears. But it does sound like something worthy of giving a try to. Hugs, kathy > > Have you tried hydrogen peroxide drops in the ear? > > > > It is recommended on Dr. Mercola's website I believe. Guest guest
Have you tried a Netti pot for your sinuses? A Netti pot with Netti salt can do wonders! Kenda I still feel awful!
