I am just starting to hear from insurance

& patients about CellCept brand now being a higher tier medication with

sometimes very high copays or coinsurance.

CellCept

Hello!

Is anyone having trouble getting CellCept paid for by insurance now that the

generic is available?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!!!

For one of our patients the difference is huge:

copay for generic is $180 for one year.

copay for brand is $5311.21 for one year.

The brand has not been denied but the patient pays a huge penalty.

Now that Cell Cept has gone generic this

is true the co pay has tripled, however, our Roche representative brought us co

pay discount cards to help (much like the cards given by Prograf, Neoral and

Myfortic). If you don’t have any call your rep they are available from

Roche.

The only problem with the Roche CellCept coupons is that the Medicare D ( & B for

that matter) patients cant use them! It's so unfair & frankly, I wonder what the

issue is--does anyone know?

Why should Medicare patients miss out on savings? It's usually those patients

that could use the coupon the most!

Why should the gov't care if the patient pays $100 less than what their copay

would have been?
