Guest guest
Lorelie: I agree. had asked me to post this to see the response from our members of and is a lay advocate for AS with the Department of Defense. He was saying they have been working on some sort of guidelines since the gulf war as it is setting some folks up to fail and draining our resources. The issue that is interesting with PDD's is there are no exceptions. was saying many with AS are under a Personality Disorder label in the military. I wonder how this will affect those "with" that have been very successful in serving and future families when the label alone will disqualify you. Many with AS have served successfully and you would think a structured environment would be good for some that flourish with strict boundaries???? We were discussing personality disorders the other day and I taped the lecture. The Prof. did a great job of explaining theory of mind, even I walked away with a better understanding. Plus, Larry (my ex self diagnosed) fits a lot of the Anti social criteria. How does one tell the difference? The teacher was saying more women get the dx. of BPD with more men receiving the label of anti social. Both are cluster B in the DSM. It was his personal experience that if you think about it, due to the nature of the disability a woman with BPD and a man with anti social disorder are the perfect match as they meet each others needs for different reasons. Have a great week end. Just my personal thoughts. Others?
