  Hi Jan !

I'm so sorry you have that. It can freakin HURT ! Your such an inspiration to

me Jan. To deal with all you have on your plate & still do everything you do. I

admire that.

NO, they haven't YET LOL! One thing at a time. It goes away for awhile when I

do the yecky prednisone, so I be cool. :-)

Oh, I wanted to tell ya it's been a lovely cool nice summer in MN. You're from

MN too right? Not enough rain thu so I'm off to water my gardens.

Hopefully I'll talk to ya later. The darn arm is tingling now, time to get off

the puter. :-(

Love you lady,

Tillytitmouse

- Have they checked you for neuropathy. Your description sounds

exactly like that. I have it in both my hands/arms and feet/legs. Jan H

, yes I am from MN. You must live in different area from my friend who

complains they have had rain all summer. My cardio just came back from up

there. His father lives there so they go frequently. He told me it was

about 68 and 100% humidity. He said he had never sweat so much in his life

and at a low temperature.

My neuropathy hasn't reached the stage where I have what I would call pain

yet. It was very painful in my outside fingers on both hands when I came

home from the hospital after my bypass, but that improved, right hand

almost normal, and I don't get the intermittent " pain " afterwards, but left

hand has been the big problems. It did get a lot better, but now it is

starting to get numb down the side of the hand to the wrist again. I never

know if changes are going to be good or bad. Learned to type with 7

fingers and thumbs for space bar. Not sure if I could go back to 8

anymore. It still stings when I try to type with the left little finger.

But, I can use it to play my music keyboard. Was really surprised when I

realized I was using it. It is mostly the outer surface which touches the

keys for music while I use the pad of the finger for typing.

Hope you get to have fun in your sun up there, pretty soon it will be gone,

lakes all frozen over, white fluff coming down out of the sky. Jan H

surgeries and my hands were 98% better.

The ulnar nerve was the one which started the neuropathy in my hands and

arms from wrist to elbow. But it was intermittent. Not constant like it is

now. After the surgery, it was caused by the subclavical nerve because

they push the rib cage against it during surgery. The subclavical damage was

just from my wrist to the tips of my fingers I have had a few twinges

making me wonder if I could have mild carpal tunnel. Between typing and

playing music, I use my hands a lot. But, it is nothing which has bothered

for more than a minute or less. I doubt if they would do surgery on me for

what they would probably call optional surgery. I have been told that if my

kidneys get much worse, they won't be able to do anymore angioplasties

either. At my 6 week checkup with my cardio surgeon, I told him if it

didn't get much better, I would like that little finger cut off and I was

only half joking. My father had one finger cut off at the first knuckle

and put back on. He would have liked to take it off because it was stiff

and always in the way. My little finger was always so sensitive and yet

numb at the same time that it was getting in the way too. Would try to

pull up my slacks and find that it had stayed on the outside while all the

rest were in the inside, didn't work very well, and it hurt.

Nothing was said about surgery when I was diagnosed, but then I think I was

only having pretty mild trouble at that time. btw. I still wear high heels

even though I have the problem in my feet too. It usually shows up at night

when I want to go to sleep. Jan H

Barby - lol are they doing both hands on the same day? There are two ways

of doing carpal tunnel . the old way is to make a long incision. The new

way they just stick a " needle " up the wrist, just a little hole, may be on

both ends, not sure. Of course the new way is much quicker. Not sure if it

is done all over the country. We have a guy down here who claims to have

invented it and trained all the doctors in the clinic he oversees how to do

it. Jan H

I had my surgeries at the beginning of the 90's when they cut you about two

inches and it took around 6 weeks to recover.  They would only do one hand at a

time.  Now I think that they use the scope and recovery is very quick.....maybe

a week.  They will give him exercises to help his hands become more flexable and

it may take up a year before he can wipe himself................just

teasing.........not for sure how long.  I WOULD most definetly do that surgery

again, if not, it could be possible to lose use of the hands.   I know carpal

tunnel is caused from repetive work........but does the liver have anything to

do with it?

Thanks be to God for he creates our tomorrows Love, Lyncia

It seems as if the liver has something to do with just about everything. If

I am not mistaken, memory is working, it also can cause fibro myalgia. Jan
