Guest guest
Hey! I am a bit overcome, sitting here with tears in my eyes after reading the responses to my post earlier today. Thank you all for CARING! I am sure I will learn much from this group of kindred spirits. :-) The lab numbers I typed before were PRE-Synthroid. I will double-check the numbers and post again tomorrow, since my lab slip is by my desk at the office. I may have the T3/T4 numbers reversed, who knows! I had a " free " consult with a patient of my husband's when she asked how I was one day about a month ago. My husband said, " Why don't you get 's opinion on your thyroid? " I felt sort of stupid, but showed her my test results and she said before having a second u/s biopsy that I should have more labs run to see how the meds were working. She is in her mid-70's now and was a well-respected endocrinologist who retired 5+ years ago. She is the one who suggested that my TSH number should go down, under 1, after taking the Synthroid. She advised not to do biopsy #2 before doing more labs. And the specialist hasn't contacted me to *remind* me I need to get a biopsy about now, etc. He sure doesn't care, you all are so right! Why am I so worried about offending him? (By the way, I got comped my consult with him due to my husband being a doc. So there's no money involved. Maybe that is why he doesn't CARE???) LOL! Joining this group is the best thing I've done since I got diagnosed with the nodule in my thyroid! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! Now I just have an emotional lump in my throat! :-) Jabber/
