The program won’t know if the donor will be able to be used with the test. Most labs build the test kit into their cost of testing. The issue we are having is whether we can bill the recipient for the cost of the kit if they sign an ABN prior to the services. I believe it is recitfied in the finscal year end cost report. I also seem to have heard that when the patient is transplanted the charges can be put on the bill for the transplant admission.
