Just emphasize to them that the emotions that you explained in there, we have every time we are in there. Each call can hit us with a different emotion. An example being a call I had tonight. I received a call from a woman about shots fired. Instant fear that someone was hurt. As I was getting more information from her she stated that there were troopers down the road. I knew that none of my guys were anywhere near her place. Looking at her address, I realized that she is on the border of a neighboring township. So I looked up in the county cad system just what that township was up to. They were on a deer struck but still alive call. They had to put the deer down. Hence, the shots fired. My end was a hugh sigh of relief. That was one fast roller coaster ride for me. But I love my job and so much so that I work full time at police dispatch and part time at a small center for fire, police and ambulance plus I am an EMT with the ambulance squad.
