Guest guest
Hennywin, Welcome to our group. I'm sorry you need us, but happy you've found your way here. We have a bunch of wonderful women who want to help you get better. We have a tremendous amount of information to share! Everything you describe is typical of a woman who has had breast implants! . . . Many women have been diagnosed with Lupus-like illnesses. But the good news is that, for most of the women, the symptoms leave after getting their implants removed and detoxing. Antibiotics can actually make matters worse. Most of us have systemic Candida/fungal problems because of the medications we've taken and from having a suppressed immune system that has grown weary of fighting the implants. You are very fortunate that your child hasn't been affected. I started a group for the families of children affected by silicone implants earlier this year. While the parents are not discussing much on the group, I am getting messages from parents whose children are born with deformed sex organs, deformed extremities . . . suffer from Lupus, joint and bone pain, Scleroderma, rashes, digestive problems and mental and cognitive problems - and more! Unfortunately neither the medical profession or the government chose to recognize the plight of so many women and children. After fourty years, you would think someone would have studied the after-effects of breast implants. There is a study in the making . . . contact Deb Pettitt, dpettitt@... for details. She heads a clinical research organization that is taking on the job of conducting a study to find out why women get sick after implants. It's unlikely you will find a doctor who agrees your implants are causing your health problems. There is no test to prove it! However, if you are like the vast majority of women who come to the group, you can get your life back once you get rid of your implants! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
I would most definitely get the implants removed. It will be your best chance at regaining health. We have had women on this group who have had high ANA titres and/or lupus diagnoses that have been reversed after explant and a serious detoxification focus. It's sad but true...implants do cause illness, as much as the doctors want to believe otherwise. Welcome to our group. Of course, I wish you didn't have to be here, but it is our hope that we can help you learn to deal with this health tragedy and turn it around and get a good measure of your health back. Guest guest
Hi and welcome to our site. I definitely think your implants need to come out. We have had women with lupus or lupuslike symptoms get better after explant. One thing is for sure--leaving the implants in will only lead to more and more problems. Once we start having symptoms from implants, they only continue to evolve into more and more serious complaints. I think virtually everyone here would agree that once the symptoms started, they only continued to get worse and more diverse, as time went on. You will probably have doctors try to tell you that your implants aren't involved and that getting them out won't make a difference. Again, many women here have been told the same thing, yet we learned differently post explant. There is hope! Just by reading the posts from the last couple of days, you will find alot of good info on getting implants removed " en bloc " and what to look for in an explanting surgeon. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. There is a very knowledgeable and supportive group. Guest guest
Hi Hennywin, You may want to send McDonough ( " " on the Waltons) an email through her website www.intheknow.org. She also was diagnosed with Lupus after having breast implants put in. The good news is that she seemingly leads a normal life and is able to work, as well as be a visible advocate for the breast implant/illness issue. I just wanted to tell you that you are not alone, and it never hurts to be put in touch with others who have had a similar experience. did have her implants removed, by the way. Best wishes, Kacey I had saline implants for 2 years and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue syndrome among others. --- In , " hennywin " <hennywin@y...> wrote: > To anyone kind enough to give me advice, > I had saline implants put in October 1996.
