Sorry I am so far behind, guys....Vern, I can't comprehend needing that....I

hate working 4th of July because we take 500 calls of fireworks. Yeah, I

KNOW there's a city ordinance, but it's the freaking 4th of July!

Geez....they act like we should put every kid who lights a sparkler in jail!

But if we actually did cite someone, THEN they would be calling the

supervisor, asking didn't we have any REAL criminals to arrest? Can't win!

My Agency Did not have Ham Radio's in the Dispatch Room. However we had

their antenna's terminate in the EOC. They were on call, and would

respond, set up equipment provided by our agency. We also made good use

of their services on such Holidays as Fourth of July, Haloween. On such

days they would set up in the EOC and several of the Hams would be in

their mobile units cruising the town. If any violations of the

Fireworks law or kids on Halloween doing damage, they would call it in

to their base, who would advise Dispatch. They were a big help to us at

these times. Sorta like having five or six more units on the street.
