Where I work, it is 7 females to 3 males (excluding supervisor). Couple years ago it was 2 females to 4 males... and back in the olden days, I remember when women were looked upon as the " token " employee!!!!! Guest guest
In my olden-olden days. Since our dispatcher worked the font desk at night. Women were NOT hired for the job. They did not want Ladies working alone at night. That was during the late 60's early 70's when bad things WERE happening to Police Stations In the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Reserve Officer on my off time, I carried my handgun to work and it was on one end of our one and only console. Guest guest
I'm glad you liked the article. I have not received my copy yet, but I read a copy that some one else got. I didn't realize it was so Long! I thought Randall Larson was going to cut it down some, but he didn't! The pictures turned out pretty good too. Yeah, we have alot of guys working in our dispatch. It just floored me when he said it. Of course, these same guys got a good laugh at what he said. They also did not appreciate the comment. annette hallmark ahallmark@...
