Guest guest
Hi Dawn Marie, I am on vacation but came to Starbuck’s today for an internet connection. I tried Biotene when I had braces because my mouth was dry and I kept getting canker sores. I didn’t care for the toothpaste because I didn’t feel like it cleaned my teeth well enough. It may work for dry mouth, I don’t know because I didn’t use it long enough. I hope you get to feeling better! Kenda I was told by my rheum to purchase a product (which I did)called Biotene. It comes as a toothpaste, mouthwash, and chewing gum. It is supposed to contain the enzymes that are missing in the saliva of Sjogren's patients which leads to dental decay. I found it at my local pharmacy but cheaper at my local Walmart. I haven't done much research on it but it does not contain peroxide. If anyone has ever tried this product (which I am doing currently) please give me some feedback. On top of that I haven't been feeling well lately. I discontinued all of my medications (and a long list it was) except for 2. I am going to have to wean myself off of those extremely slow (effexor and klonopin). I will write/post more when I am feeling better. There is an awful lot to read about since I haven't logged on in 3 weeks. All of you are an endless stream of information and knowledge but most of all inspiration. God Bless! Guest guest
Dawn I saw several products in Walgreens for dry mouth yesterday . . . At least one was a chewing gum. I'm glad to hear you're weaning off the meds . . . Effexor can be hard to come off . . . You can divide the capsules into smaller doses by using empty gel caps. . . . Drink plenty pure water and eat very healthy too! You're going to get there! - One step at a time! Hugs and prayers, Rogene

Guest guest
I feel the same way....My teeth and mouth not feeling clean. The toothpaste makes no " bubbles " . What I started to do is put the Biotene on my brush and a small amt of my reg toothpaste. So far it is seeming to do the trick!!! > > > > > >
Guest guest
That foaming quality in your toothpaste is most likely from a substance called sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate, which some people have begun to label with caution. These are in shampoos and other soaps as well. I don't want to look for a boogeyman in every product we buy, or create the idea that we have to be paranoid about everything, but for those who are willing to purchase products that do not contain these potentially harmful ingredients, there are products out there. Just wanted to mention it. For more info, see this link: http://www.safe2use.com/data/sls-sles.htm Glad it is working for you! I like the feeling of the sudsing toothpaste myself, and I use SeaFresh, which does foam up, but has no lauryl sulfate in it. I love it! It was recommended by a holistic dentist. Here's a link about it: http://store./iherb/seafresh.html > I feel the same way....My teeth and mouth not feeling clean. The > toothpaste makes no " bubbles " . Guest guest
Health food stores have natural toothpaste. I have not used commercial toothpaste for many years. Guest guest
I use Weleda Salt tooth paste that I get from Wild Oats. It doesn’t have SLS or other harmful chemicals and works very well. When had my braces, my dentist couldn’t believe how clean my teeth always were. Kenda Health food stores have natural toothpaste. I have not used commercial toothpaste for many years.
