Hi :

go to quackcenter.com/Iodoral.html and read up about some of the symptoms

that iodine deficiency may cause, and that it may possibly be the root

cause of most diseases and abnormal health patterns in the US.

There is also an Iodine.com yahoo group.

Love,

Charlotte

PS: Iodoral tablets are a prescription item, the (newest it seems)

alternative to Lugol's iodine drops.

What's interesting is why I always have to be the one to tell the

doctor what to look for? Why do I have to be the one to ask them to

check me for Iodine deficiency? I probably do have it because every

time I have salt, I feel a lot better.

I guess , it's because the pharmaceutical industry doesn't make 'enough'

money on such simple natural (food-)supplements as selling iodine, and it's

them who write and pay for the medical study and reference books for doctors

to be. In that way they learn to treat symptoms, a procedure that ends up

in using some drug , if possible several - one for each symptom that i.e.

an iodine deficiency may cause in a person. After that, the side effects

that the drugs cause can be addressed, with some more drugs, and so on, a

guarantee for more sales.

Fortunately, not only people, but also many doctors have now become

disenchanted (to say the least) with the results of such traditional

" treatments " and are turning towards alternative medecine which many have

been secretly using for years on themselves. It will take several years and

an investment of many thousands of $$s for alternative medecine seminars, to

become proficient in that new 'adjunct therapy'. So we have to be patient

and give them some pointers. My doctor has learned a lot in the last year

since he started on this road, and he appreciates that I am very

'understanding', communicating with him. He has taken many seminars and

spent a lot of time and money to become more knowledgeable, especially that

every person is different and there are many options from which to choose

and try to achieve the right treatment....

Cheereo, and keep up the good 'detective work' for yourself!

Yes I see what you mean Charlotte. But there are problems mixing

some of these herbal supplements with hormones as I have found out.

It's all very tricky and there's a LOT to learn. It's just too

involved. ly, I don't want to carry around 10 bottles of

supplements to stay healthy either!!!

What I meant was that a simple thing like iodine can possibly help for a

number of conditions that especially women suffer from. If you would read

the article I referred you to, it would tell you about the many metabolic

functions iodine has in the body, especially the importance for the

endocrine system.

Nobody has said it's a cure-all, but it may be good to at least consider it

as one of the basics the body needs to be checked for.

I read this post and had to pop over and read about iodine.

Fascinating and thought provoking-going to discuss this one w/Dr.

next week. I don't eat salt since heart attack, high blood pressure,

and stokes run way down the line on both sides of my family. I eat a

low fat diet, too.

Maybe I am too cautious and causing myself some problems?? I might

need iodine..
