Guest guest
I have pains near my joints...not the actual joint...for example my right knee...the muscle surrounding it, it painful... As far as the weight issue...This is my feelings, when your activity slows down, and you don't want to move...and if you don't change your food intake, you will gain weight. Also alot of the meds they give us cause you to slow down, or even can cause cravings for sweets...I found this out when I was on elavil...I was frenzied for chocolate candy bars all the time...lol Best Wishes, JanetM. > Hey, some questions: > > Anyone have pain in their joints??? > Also, anyone struggling with their weight? > Is that part of this illness as well? >

Guest guest
:-) I actually gained the weight during my last pregnancy, but the onset of symptoms began shortly after she was born and I've not been able to LOSE weight since despite all my efforts.. So, was wondering if there was a connection... or what... > > Hey, some questions: > > > > Anyone have pain in their joints??? > > Also, anyone struggling with their weight? > > Is that part of this illness as well? > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- >

I went from being very athletic to being nearly bed ridden, plus meds added to the problem. I have many pounds to loose. On the plus side, no pun intended, I have to say that exercise isn't as impossible as it may seem to be, IF you have a good health care worker on your team. I thought I'd NEVER be able to do physical things again--- I was so tired and HURT all the time. After a few months on new pain meds, and a few months of physical therapy sessions I am now able to exercise independantly again!! I can't do all the athletic things I used to do, but I can do more than I thought I would be able to do! I am now doing water arobics 3 times a week and weight lifting twice a week and its making a great improvement. Even with the meds I still got muscle cramps, etc. Since working out I have lost the cramps and general pain, and have more energy as well. I hope to loose weight with calorie restricted diet (my meds cause hungriness, grumble!) and my exercising routines. I had my doc check out my body lean/fat mass to compare each three months my progress. I highly recommend everyone seeks physical therapy to learn what exercises might work for you. Medicaid covers it, too. Its not a matter of " trying hard enough " its a matter of trying the RIGHT way and method for your conditions. -Sherri
