I haven't been in this group for long and don't post often. I was dx'd in '91. I am not on any of the injectable treatments, so can't respond to posts about them. I have never been hospitalized because of anything to do with the MS. I was dx'd by a spinal tap and have only had 2 MRI's since then (5 yrs. apart) and they were identical-just 1 large lesion, primarily to the left of the very top of my brain. My normal body temp is 97.7, and I'm always cold, so I like hot weather, but not high humidity! But my 2nd exacerbation in '94 left me unable to straighten my legs to be able to stand, so I have been in a wheelchair ever since! I took ACTH injections at that time, without much luck, obviously, and have only taken 2 rounds of Solumedrol since then- never prednizone! My younger brother also has MS (since '85) and is now on Avonex and is still working! I am telling you all this because most of my posts tend to be

"humorous", because I really do think laughter is the best medicine! So here's my humor today and this really did happen!

When my oldest son was in kindergarten, I took his twin brothers to school during "T" week. Each week, the teacher asked parents to visit the class and talk about something that started with the letter of the week. After a fun hour or so with the class, the twins and I went home. An hour later, I got a frantic call from his teacher! She had gotten a phone call and had left the classroom for a few minutes. When she returned, my son was standing at the chalkboard with the teacher's pointer in hand. Since the class was sitting quietly, paying close attention to my son, she "listened" in on my son's lesson. He was explaining the fairly accurate drawing of the female anatomy he had drawn on the board. He explained that the "over there's" were where the eggs were made. When they got old enough, they went down the big waterslides called the "follow me tubes" which lead into a big pool called the " U 2 R US"

(He spelled it out with the backward R like Toys R Us!) Now, in the pool were these little fish called "sperm" who really liked eggs. Sometimes the eggs fell too hard into the water and got cracked and the little sperm would swim into the egg and eat the yolk and stuff until they got so big that they couldn't get back out of the crack. And that's how babies are born. Twins happen when 2 eggs crack at the same time.

The teacher was hysterical because, she said, it was the best sex education class she had ever heard, by a 5 yr. old, but how was she supposed to explain to the parents of his classmates just what the kids at school had learned that day!!! Never did hear back from her on that particular subject!!!

Hope I made you smile! Bebe
