I felt the same when I came in, because (I think) everyone here has had to fight so hard for so long to get better, and even if we are agreeing or disagreeing, there is one thing I think everyone agress on...that no one should *have* to suffer with a thyroid condition and that through our own experiences maybe less people can suffer! > > The lab numbers I typed before were PRE-Synthroid. I may have the T3/T4 > numbers reversed, who knows! > posted an answer to this, I forgot, she was the same way. I read something about this once, that sometimes the thyoird when going hypo compensates at first by trying to make more T3 at first or something similar to that...I'll have to find that link. However, when a nodual is involved making the thyoird not work properly I am sure that can be a factor. But your symptoms SOUND hypo, as if you do indeed need more T3....prior to synth meds all my #'s were low. After synth meds my tsh was between 1 and 2, but my T4 at high normal and my T3 at low normal, and I felt like utter poop! >And > the specialist hasn't contacted me to *remind* me I need to get > a biopsy about now, etc. He sure doesn't care, you all are > so right! Why am I so worried about offending him? (By the way, > I got comped my consult with him due to my husband being a doc. > So there's no money involved. Maybe that is why he doesn't CARE???) Oh looky, another hubby doc! *grin* What kind of doctor is he (hubby?)? Thats two docs now going to be in thyroid and hormone training by their wives. Does this mean I only get to have 998 now? (, long story, but since we were going to train 1000 docs, I volunteered to date 999 of them since is married to one too, train them after having lots of fun, and then dump them all and marry my chiropractor...giggle) Now with SOME docs...not 's Hubby because he seems to be an all around good guy, and probably not yours either, but SOME docs, the $$ is the bottom line. OK, with a lot of docs. I swear some of them keep you sick to keep you coming back. I am NOT kidding. A lot of biopsies are inconclusive. The chances of this one being different from the first are not high, you know. The chances of a single node being cancerous are very very slim. Ret. endo is right, get some blood work to see where you are at right now. Do your TSH Free T4 and Free T3, and if you haven't done the Hasimoto's test yet for antibodies, may as well throw that in as well. I usually go on a tangent about blood work, I think i am the queen of blood work (52 vials of flippin blood since September, and I am SO done) , and I will not let them take anymore right now, though I may redo some thyroid in a few months to see where I am on the Armour. Blood work will tell a lot about what is going on in your body, chem 7's and basic met panels and cbcs and the like, but if hubby is a doc, you are probably already aware of all that. > > LOL! Joining this group is the best thing I've done since I got > diagnosed with the nodule in my thyroid! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! > Now I just have an emotional lump in my throat! :-) > Its all about self education and learning. Of course you are welcome here. This isn't one of those creepy groups where people gang up on eachother and there is not a lot of meowing and hissing even though we all seem to be female at this time. We pretty much keep on topic-thyroid, other hormones, nutrition, though there is time for play too...I think we learn way more about our conditions by sharing info than any of us ever have from a doctor! and guess what? We ARE getting better! (who tried real hard to only requote what I was commenting on...did I do OK Janie??*grin*)
