Guest guest
Hello everyone. My name is , and I am a 39 year old mother of 3 boys (ages 7,6 and almost 4), from the san Diego area. I am an artist and instructor, when I am not chasing small boys. I have not been diagnosed with MS, but I have concerns. A year ago, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I joined an e-group to get information. With one post, I expressed curiosity about an electrical sensation that ran down my spine and leg, when I was looking over one shoulder. I was terrified when someone wrote back and informed me that this was not a symptom of Fibro, but of MS. I quickly looked through the symptoms of MS, said " that can't be right " and forgot about it. Severe migraines have prompted me to see a neurologist in a few weeks. I thought I would bring up that " spine shock " during my visit. Once again, I decided to look at the symptoms of MS, and this time, I actually read the symptoms. This time, I can't ignore it. Along with the spine shock and headaches, I have: 1) Vertigo and dizziness 2) severe fatigue (worse when it is hot) 3) Tendacy to forget simple words, even if I was just ready to say them / memory problems 4) Shaking hands, especially my hand hand, which is my dominant one 5) Tight band around chest (I tend to blame my bra...even if I am not wearing one or it is in a different position. 6) Depression 7) Restless legs 8) (really weird one) A " whoosh " sensation when I close my eyes or move them from side to side. 9) Muscle pain Some of these things come and go (the spine shock I have had about 6 periods in 4 years. Some of these things like muscle pain I can explain away to Fibro. But, I am smart enough to know that should I mention these things to a Neurologist, I am most likely going to be tested. I am scared to death and could really use some support right now. The people round me, seem to think I am being paranoid. I told my mother (an RN)about the spine shock...her reaction was silence, then told me not to worry, I probably had a " compressed vertibrae " . My husband thinks I am over-reacting. My appointment is in a bit more than 2 weeks.
