I know there are other stories, such as Shari's Tampa news clip, but I don't have a copy of that. I wish I did! If anyone has any VHS tapes or DVD's that they want copied onto a master, please let me know, and maybe we can make arrangements to get these stories included. I intend to make a number of DVD's available, hopefully for free, but if there are alot of requests I might have to ask for postage fees, but I want members of our group or anyone else who wants one to be able to see these stories. Guest guest
Thank you. I'll send you my mailing address. I've got tapes that I believe I can access soon, of the original Connie Chung show that broke the issue ... I believe a Fox Interview with our Lynda Roth vs Y-ME (Lynda wins, hands down!) Sally Kirkland when she got her explant and went on tape from the hospital ... two Oprah Winfrey's on implants ... the first, I described this way, after Dow's PR team was churning out Hazelton propaganda 3 years ago: Ilena: My first experience with Hazelton, was of a very different man than is being publicized here. It was 1997 and Oprah had him on stage discussing the then 2 1/2 year bankruptcy ploy of wealthy Dow corning. Many ill and frustrated women were in the audience. Giving Dow's version of truth about the identified number of the women who had died from their never FDA approved implants ... he quoted 72. A justifiably upset and ill silicone injured Mom in the audience stood up to correct his error, explaining the number was in actuality, 92. Perfectly illustrating the lack of importance of the lives and deaths of their former customres, Hazelton, waved it off nonchalantly stating " 72 . . . 92 . . . Whatever! " ~~~~ They are all tapes ... if I can get them to you, can you preserve them for posterity? Honey, this is an incredible project ... I can't wait to see the ones you named! I've only been able to see Shari's because it was on the net ... I don't have TV ... I want to see all these brave women ... I've never even heard Kacey though I've read her interviews. Lots of love, Ilena > > > Hi Group, > > > I have been wanting to put together a DVD of all of our TV > > appearances > > > for years now, and I am finally almost able to complete this > > task! Guest guest
I think that was not Fox news, it may have been Good Morning America. I did win, didn't I. I actually clued them in before the show started that Y-Me receives mega-donations from breast implant manufacturers, and they won it for me. It was fun, and I was working very hard not to laugh. Not that I don't take it seriously, but these guys have been a thorn in our sides for 14 yrs. Lynda At 05:21 PM 7/23/2005, you wrote: >Thank you. Guest guest
Yes, you definitely won! I hope I can find that tape ... the look on the Y-Me's spokeswoman face was priceless! You were cool and real! Here's what I posted about this before your interview: 1. Ilena Sep 18 1997, 1:00 am Newsgroups: alt.support.breast-implant.moderated, alt.support.breast- implant From: i...@... (Ilena) - Find messages by this author Date: 1997/09/18 Subject: Lynda Roth on MSNBC Thursday AM Just heard from our dear friend, Lynda Roth of COSS in Boulder, that she will be on MSNBC, Thursday 10:40am (PST), along with someone from Y-ME, the pro, pro, pro, manufacturer sponsored, breast cancer group. I met Rosemary Locke, one of their primary spokespeople a couple of months ago. I introduced myself as a Woman's Health Advocate ~ working with women who have problems from breast implants. She IMMEDIATELY said, " then we're on opposite sides of this issue! " I replied ~ " no, I don't see it that way. Aren't we both for women's health? " I guess not ~ as she couldn't look me (or the other silicone damaged women with me) in the eye ~ and was very upset at meeting us. We felt comfortable and it was very telling at how uncomfortable she was. Before she knew my other two friends, Joan and Judy were 'implantees' she was totally chatty and gracious. Never spoke a word after that. Wonder why? Y-ME is largely funded by Dow Corning and Bristol-Myers-Squibb, or so it says on their fancy, schmanzy brochure. Let's send our love and prayers to Lynda Thursday am, and always. She has educated untold thousands of women on this issue ~ you and me included. Thank you Lynda, aren't you glad you have truth on your side? Love, Ilena
Guest guest
I distinctly remember that message. The biggest problem was that I had to go to Denver and be on the air at 5:00 A.M. (7:00 A.M. in NY. They sent a car for me, picked me up at 3:30 A.M. I was definitely tired (2 hrs. sleep) and even drank coffee. But, I knew just how to get to her and planted the seed before the show started. Barbara Stock called me, She said: " You were wonderful, you looked tired, you looked sick, and you sounded intelligent. " I did look tired and sick. Hopefully, I sounded intelligent. But, it was worth the lack of sleep to expose Y-Me for what they are. Guest guest
Yes, Ilena, I can get all those VHS tapes onto DVD! Do you have my mailing address? If not, let me know. I'd love to see all those tapes you mentioned, get them onto DVD and make them available. It would be a great compilation of our stories that I'd love to share!
