Hi,

I just wanted to make a comment on water piks. I used one when I had my braces on but as soon as they came off I was told not to use one. Several dentists mentioned the HP solution that everyone is using here. But in my true form, I never took care of myself or listen too much about what I was told to do. Too busy doing other things.

I started having bleeding when brushing my teeth. This I know was also associated with my implants as my teeth have changed and had one break off to the gum. I went to the dentist and he said that I had the start of periodontal disease (excuse my spelling). He suggested that I start using the sonic care tooth brush or lose my teeth. Since I had maxillofacial surgery (took 5 hours) with a 6 week recovery time since my jaw was wired shut, I decided to buy a sonic care. I can tell you that my gums no longer bleed and the gaps in my gums are no longer there. I swear by sonic care. It is very expensive but well worth it.

This is just my opinion. If the water pik works for you stay with it but I had to mention the sonic care as I absolutely love it. After using it, I feel like the dentist just cleaned my teeth.Shirley Seal <toshirl20022002@...> wrote:

Patty, I was just going to ask Rogene what type of water pik to buy...I'm glad to have this info.

I had a similar experience as you, Rogene...the dentist put a crown on two teeth. I got a terrible infection and had to go to an endodontist. He tried to save the tooth because I begged, but it was only temporary and to no avail...a year later I had to have it pulled and now need a bridge.

Here's an article I came across today about the best non-toxic countertop/surface cleaner that is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal:

"Take one spray bottle of regular 3% hydrogen peroxide and clean your surface. Then take another spay bottle of ordinary distilled white vinegar and clean your surface. That's all there is to it and it is very effective and safe!"

Hi, I also use sonicare. It has worked well for us also. my husband

had some deep pockets around several of his molars and was looking

at possible oral surgery. I got him the sonicare and our dentist

couldn't believe the improvement!! THe hydrogen peroxide, like so

many things, has opposing reports on whether it is good or bad. Dr.

Mercola at one time recommended using it in the ear canal to get rid

of sinus infections, colds, etc. I thought wow, this sounds great.

But then I researched it and found articles stating that it could be

damaging to the inner ear canal. Also, people use hydrogen peroxide

baths all the time as a herx reducer and also as a detoxifier.

However, I couldn't because it literally caused my vaginal area to

feel like it was burned. But many people have used it and not ever

mentioned that symptom. I guess I will take the middle of the road--

use it judiciously and diluted properly.

Hi Kathy,

Yes, I love my sonic care too. I couldn't get over how the pockets around my teeth just closed up. It was amazing. I also had alot of bleeding in my gums. I can now brush my teeth without that worry. I really noticed a difference when I grab for the regular toothbrush instead of the sonic care. My teeth still feel unbrushed!!! I swear by it. I sound like a commercial! :)
