Guest guest Posted July 17, 2005 Report Share Posted July 17, 2005 Hi Rogene I have missed the stuff on here regarding children born of moms that had the silicone breast implants....My children were both born while I had the "Double Lumen" (silicone in the middle, saline on the outside) implants.....Is this what you are talking about? If so, please let me know what I should be looking out for. They were born in 1986/1989. They both have had numerous illnesses......I had no idea of the relation but I do remember my attorney back in 94/95 telling me that our children would receive money out of the lawsuit (surgitek) but they never did.. However we have members there whose children are affected who do not post here. Please take time to read through the old posts from some of the mothers and some of the articles referring to childrens toxic issues. It's terribly important that you do not let guilt get you down. They are STILL telling women that implants won't harm their children, and that it's safe to nurse. While not all children are affected, some are horrible disabled because of implants. By the time one knows, it may be too late! There appear to be a few things that may help. . . The women who have reported their children are doing better say their children were treated early on with an anti-fungal for an extended period, that they removed all products with silica from their diets (It's hard to figure those out - You'll need help!), by very stringent dietary management or with IV therapy. Finding out what your child needs is difficult since doctors are not trained to recognise these problems. The purpose of the group is to share what works and what doesn't work. There are some women who don't want to post their children's experiences on the group . . .. But I'm trying to pass on what they have learned. What I understand is that the attornies made a deal with the manufacturer's not to pursue children's issues in return for settling the cases already on hand. Sucks! Regardless, if you keep looking, you may still be able to find an attorney! We try not to post attorney's names because they usually don't want the attention. However, you are free to post the question and ask for a personal response.
