Hi everyone

I am not sure if anyone saw or heard the report from ABC News 20/20 regarding Parents giving their daughter's Breast Augmentations as a graduation gift, but I am horrified that ANY parent would do this type of thing! These CHILDREN are 17, 18 , and 19 years old! The parents gave the girls a choice between a car or Augmentation. The girls are choosing Augmentation. THey (ABC NEWS) even brought up the fact that the FDA stated that there is 25 complications listed and that approximately 40% of all aumentation patients have at least one serious complication within the first three years. The girls feel that they will just have "one - three years of feeling great about themselves" then.......This is nuts that parents are paying for these things just so that their daughters will like them! I dont think that they are going to LIKE THEM when they begin going through all of the illnesses that we all have gone through and are presently going

through. It is very sad that we cant get through to these girls before they make one of the biggest mistakes in their lives. At this point in time the parents are stating that it is giving their girls a "feeling of confidence" and that they have "no regrets", but what wil they say 5 years from now or even 10 years from now?? These girls were even told that there is a great possibility that they will have to have at least a second surgery and maybe a third because the implants can move or even rupture and they didnt have a problem with that either. I guess the children or teens cant be blamed, it lies on the parents shoulders as they are the ones GIVING this to these kids.......They call it the Gift of Love for their Child's Happiness!!! Shouldnt the Gift of love be making sure that their child is safe etc???? I am sorry but this is just horrifying to me after three surgeries and nothing but problems - some that I have to live with for the rest of my life, and

then they televise this as it is GLAMOUROUS and nothing is wrong with it...............

I am interested in anyone elses perspective on this....

Thanks

Diane
