Hi Lea,

Depending on what the person is diagnosed with, it can help enormously. In my case, I was given this drug just to treat my fibro. This was way before I knew that the implants were causing the problems. My entire body was swelled like that of a balloon. I can just imagine what prednisone would have done! Also, I only took the drug for two days. I have never been in so much pain in my life! Doubled over, close to picking up the phone for an ambulance because of the pain in my liver. This doctor was just so unsympathtic.

I sure wish that you would start to feeling better. Some of your posts break my heart. I almost feel guilty to complain what I'm going through after reading some of the things that you have and are continuing to endure. 30 years Lea??? This is just too hard for me to imagine. It has only been 4 years for me. I'm so glad that you have . He really seems to take good care of you.

P.S. I'm very pissed off right now. Watching Larry King. The subject is that show Extreme Makeover. I have the number to call in but he isn't taking calls tonight! I'd like to ask some of those doctors about all of the women getting sick from their chin implants and breast implants! Lea <devans@...> wrote:

Beth, Prednisone has saved my life at times, but it is a deadly drug. It destroys our bones and it has many other bad side effects and you cannot just come off this drug. Again my case is so complex that none of the doctors seems to know how to treat me. Some American doctors seem to be more educated in silicone poisoning. I do agree with you, I never want to have to take this drug again.

Honey, please get well...love you....Lea

Prednisone

Hi Ladies,

Let me tell you about my experience with prednisone! I went to what was supposed to be the 'best' rheumatolgist in Philadelphia. What a joke since I went to his office three times and only had about 5 minutes total with him. All three times I really had an appointment with his assistant and not him. I was pissed. Anyway, the assistant prescribes prednisone for me. The first night I took it I was awake with terrible pains in my liver. It felt as though a knife were being pushed into it. That night I thought that it was another new symptom coming on. I took it the second night and once again had the same excruciating pain.

I called the office and spoke to 'the assistant' (doctor too busy to talk to me) and told her about what happened. She told me that it was impossible for that drug to give you those kinds of pains. I told her that 'I assure you it is the prednisone'. I asked her if there was something else I could take. She wanted me to continue it!!! I told her that I cannot spend another night in that kind of pain and I think there might be something wrong with my liver. Get this....she told me that you can't just stop taking prednisone or you will have withdrawal symptoms. I told her she was full of crap, I had only taken them for two nights and that I will not endure that kind of pain again. She insisted that I continue and I hung up and never went to 'the best' rheumatolgist in Philadelphia again!

Dearest Beth:

I watched Larry king last night, the show on Extreme Makeovers. Some of the people with bad teeth needed dental care, but the rest were plain stupid. In my opinion plastic surgeons should only help people who have been disfigured by an accident or a child who is disfigured at birth. Shows like this should be banned because they influence some people who feel that they are not good looking enough. We have a show here called Skin Deep and I would love to have it taken off the air. Look at Larry King, he is not handsome, but to me he is, I just love him. These shows help plastic surgeons to get rich.

Regarding steroids, they have their place in some serious conditions. When I had my last pulmonary embolism, I did not know what day it was or where I was. The doctors started to treat me immediately. Do you think that I knew what they were putting into my body? All I care about is that they saved my life. I was told later by that they gave me 50 mg. of Prednisone after they had hooked me up to everything that you could think of. I do agree that steroids should be used only for emergencies.

Honey, I believe that you had a reaction to this drug and I'm glad that you are not on steroids. I know women who have been on Prednisone for ten years and claim that they cannnot live without this drug. I know that I never want to take this drug again.

I wish that they could invent a happy pill, because I would love to be happy again.

Love you...Lea

No, I have not heard from Sue. I hope that she is safe and that she will not be too frightened to move about in her area. 's boss and his wife are in England and we have not heard from them. They use busses and trains and we are worried about them.
