Welcome Dawn. I was implanted for 11 years. I was incredibly ill and

had lost nearly everything at one point. Like you I actively

searched for help and was at my wits end when I found this group.

That was about 3 months ago. I had my explant surgery nearly 3 weeks

ago, and I am a totally different person. I woke up feeling a

significant and immediate difference. MY explant was done en loc

with a lift. I was pain free and never needed more than a couple of

tylenol. Since then I have discovered that half of my ailments are

virtually gone and I am able to work and exercise daily. I am in the

process of detoxing, and sometimes that makes me feel pretty yucky,

but it is something that has to be done. You can expect that after

your explant you will have to actively work for at least a year to

really acheive the results that you want. Changing your diet and

exercising regularly will help more than you know. Drink tons of

spring water!

What area are you in? Would you be willing to travel for a good

doctor? I would recommend that you very slowly start taking yourself

off of your medications in preparation for the surgery. You'll want

to be off them by 2 weeks prior to surgery. You may feel worse

before you feel better, I did, but it is oh so worth it in the

end!!!!

Hugs,

I would like to thank all of you that have gotten back to me so

soon. I actually drug my butt upstairs this morning to read some

more and there were some replies to " my cry for help " already. It is

so nice to finally reach out to someone for help and have them pull

me in instead of push me away. I've been told for so long " it's all

in my head " . God Bless all of you !!!

I am 36 yrs old and had my first surgery at age 21 to correct

infantile breast disorder. My surgeon at that time used silicone

implants that ruptured 2 years later (and that's how it all began).

I live in PA, in the NE suburbs of Philadelphia. I was going to call

my plastic surgeon today and ask about explant surgery but I think

I'll wait. I'm not sure if he " believes " that my implants are the

root of my problems. He knows about all of my medical problems

including being diagnosed with Sjogrens Syndrome (auto immune) and

never mentioned about taking the implants out.

My greatest concern about explant surgery or any surgery now is my

increased risk of necrosis and all other abnormal wound healing.

I've suffered from necrosis 3 times now and the pain is unbearable.

It has taken years for the skin to grow back. I had to go through

testing, hyper barric chambers, skin grafting, durable medical

equipment and supplies, and home health care. None of which worked.

I'm still trying to heal (grow skin) from my 4/03 surgery. Also my

immune system is sooooo weak, as am I, and I don't know if I would

be able to take the surgery. Most doctors won't even touch me

because because my lab results are so very crazy !!!

Can you please help me with a list doctors in my area

that " believe " . If there are none I will find a way to travel.

Also I would love to start to detox but I don't know where to begin.

My head is very cloudy and I'm finding it all so very confusing. I

already drink 3+ gallons of water a day because of my Sjogrens but I

need a road map of where to begin and in which order.

I know that I am asking alot from all of you for only being on this

site for 2 days but all of your help would be greatly appreciated.

In turn I would love to be able to help someone someday so that they

don't end up like me.

Dawn, cal Dr. Feng's office and speak with . They are located

in Cleveland and are extremely knowledgeable about women with

implant problems. Dr. Feng has removed implants from over 2000

women. www.drfeng.com

Welcome to the group . . . You're not alone by any

means. . I shudder to think of how many women are

suffering without having a clue about why! . . . The

doctors certainly aren't helping. It's criminal the

way women are being treated!

I'd suggest checking out Dr. Kolb's protocol for

detoxing. Her program is very involved, but women do

much better after getting started. Dr. Feng has also

begun putting her women on a detox program. Since

you've had so many problems, I would suggest

contacting either, or both, of these doctors before

seeing another plastic surgeon.

I've got to run in minutes . . . I think Dr. Kolb's

website is www.plastikos.com . . . If I'm wrong, would

someone please correct me?

I know you're going through a tough, scary time . . .

but the good news is that you can get your life back.

It takes time, work and dedication. But we've seen

woman after woman do it. You can too!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

I am so sorry for all you have been through. It sure makes things

hard with your not healing properly after surgery. Does anyone know

why this happens to you? What bloodwork is out of whack? I would

suggest Dr. feng in ohio. I think she is an excellent surgeon and

she definitely believes that implants cause illness. I think she is

also very careful and would give you good advice about handling

surgery with your special problems. I would at least call and talk

to her on the phone and explain your situation. Also, you should be

able to get insurance to pay for this mess. I think you should be

able to prove that an explant is necessary for your health so that

they will pay for it. You definitely need an explant, but because

of your special issues, please choose carefully who you decide to use

and get their input on how they will get your skin to heal

properly.

love, kathy
