My son has violent reactions to S. Boullardii; explosive multiple diahhreas, skin on his bottom coming off in terrible diaper rashes making him black and blue etc. I am wondering if this is die-off and something we should just push through or is this a yeast allergy and to avoid S. Boullardii? He does not have this type of reaction from Diflucan. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for the help.

Another question, what brand? My ds had diarrhea with Jarrow brand but cleared up when I switched to New Beginning brand. Might be worth a try with a different brand.

Best of luck!

I believe sacc boulardi can feed a certain bacteria. My son started hand biting after the start of

sacc boulardi, and it is a behavior I have not been able to stop. I would stop.

Yikes! He hasn't started biting his hands from it yet. When we were

aggressively giving it to him he regressed. It took us over a month

to get him to walk down stairs on his own again. I'd like him to be

on it if he has to use antibiotics, but it's not worth a serious

regression. What else can we do for him if he goes on antibiotics?

Oh wow, that sounds familiar. Even i think S.Boullardii does good to

him, he always starts excesive chewing on his clothes. Just throwed

away a winterjacket. We use GI Pro Health, its free of everything.

Maybe we should go back to SCDopholus, but he stimmed a lot with it.

Any suggestions?

All the best from over here in germany

Hi Marrianne,

What makes you think that the S. Boulardii may be feeding parasites?

My hunch is that the one week of hyperactivity and insomnia we had

with Valtrex was due to yeast die-off because the virus was hiding in

the yeast and preventing the antifungal from working effectively.

It's just a speculation, though.

Hi,

when I was using S boullardi, DOrfman (nutritionist) said to

only use it for no more than 3 months because then it also turns into

bad bugs. I spoke with the Klaire labs rep about this at DAN and she

would only say that S. boullardii should only be used for 3 months

and then you should to another probiotic. I dont know how long you

have been using it, but if its been 3 months yet, it might be time to

switch. good luck

all i can remember about what I have read about sboulardi is that

unlike probiotics it does not provide colonizing bacteria so it help

the gut mainain proper gut flora - it fixes something. wish I knew what

it fixed. lol. all i know is that I thought it was a probiotic - like a

regular one - when i was just starting this all out and Timmy had the

worst diarhea I have ever seen and i mean seriously bad. I was relieved

that I could take him off of that right aaway ans switch to

somethingelse.
