Kangaroo Feeding Bags

I thought I would let anyone who needs kangaroo feeding bags know that I have

an abundance of them. We just recently moved into our new apartments and I

found 2 large boxes of bags that I had put into a storage closet. Tryny gets

a case a month delivered, so these are excess bags. If anyone out there needs

them, just email me your address and I'd be happy to send you as many as you

need.

Debra,

I read your message and had to read it again....you have EXTRA kangaroo bags?

My insurance company will not pay for them. They consider the bags disposable

so they will not pay for them...syringes either. Go figure. My big thing is

if they paid for the kangaroo machine, how do they expect me to feed him? I

HATE OXFORD!!!!!!

lol

Anyway, if you really don't mind I would love to be a charity case and ask

you for some extra bags. Here's my address:

Korey, Kangaroo is a brand of feeding pump, like you would use overnight to

feed through a gastrostomy button with a slow drip. It is small, and

attaches to an IV pole. The bag hooks on at the top of the IV pole (just

like any IV bag) and you fill it with formula or whatever and the pump

regulates the flow into the feeding tube. So they are the bags that go

with that specific pump.

They do sound like something that hangs in a zoo cage, though.

Steffi,

I know how you feel about insurance not paying for the bags yet paying for the

machine. My insurance paid for my suction machine but not the tank that the

stuff is sucked into. It's part of the machine!!!!!!!

Steffi,

One good thing about the bags, is that you can wash them after each feed

real well and use them for a week or so. Keep it in the refrigerator -

it will eliminate bacteria. Also, I would fight them not paying for the

bags. I would fight until I win. Get letters from the hospital etc,

your Pediatrician, GI doc and fight fight fight. Good luck - we have

been there.
