Guest guest
Hi Kavy, Thanks for the tip. The book looks fascinating! As I read this CBT book on eating, and the author writes about finding your " core beliefs " and how important it is that they are sound, functional, rational and appropriate. I think that this must be basically another way of looking at values. I like going into the values work in detail. It's like an archeologist who is using one of those tiny brushes to find what is buried under the dirt. My values really are buried treasures. I have read CBT literature before and not really felt passionate about it like I do for ACT but reading it with my " ACT " glasses on now, I appreciate it more and can interpret it in a new way that I understand and can use. For me, pure CBT feels like programming a computer, but with ACT there is the spiritual/mystical/open side that was missing for me.
