Guest guest
Hi, Well today was my annual exam. My Dr thinks I am doing amazingly considering the fact that I had a serious head injury in Jan thanks to a girl broadsiding me. BUT I haven't had much sleep since last Sat. It could be the head injury. My Dr doesn't think it's my thyroid. (But the neuro psych I saw today thinks its the thyroid - aarrgggghhhh. ) Nothing like not getting much sleep and not being real tired either. And I don't drink anything that has caffeine either. She is running the following blood tests: thyroid profile DHEA FSH & estradiol (which will be good to see if I am perimenopausal.) She also diagnosed me with hirsuitism which I know is related to the adrenal gland. I should get the results next week. Now for the bad news - when I mentioned Armour she said because the dosing is soooo tricky she doesn't like to prescribe it but gave me the name of a Dr who will. His name is Dr Zemel Leonard. For now I will continue to go to my Dr and stay on the semi evil Thyrolar. Louise

It's NOT tricky. It's EASY, in fact. What is tricky is getting a person to feel good on synthetics!!! And the thyroid profile you mention.....If that " thyroid profile " is what I think it is, it is extremely useless. It doesn't have any of the free's and test things that don't matter and DON'T give a doc good practical info. BUT, we are CERTAINLY glad you are on a synthetic that contains T3. That puts you FAR ahead of those on T4 only!! Good for you! And in the future, do remember that what you are missing out by being on Thyrolar vs. Armour are the other T's---T2 and T1, plus calcitonin, which puts the calcium from your blood right into your bones. But we are very proud of you for getting the T3!! Janie
