Hi Dawn,

My God, I had no idea when I spoke to you this morning that we are neighbors. I also live in NE Philadelphia. I'm wondering if we know each other as I've told so many people about this site.

Sure is great to have someone from my area in the group! Before I moved, as I told you before that I lost everything, I was in the Bensalem area. Have you heard of Thunder Hollow? I've moved since then but really don't want to broadcast where I'm living now.

I hope I can help you further. I can tell you stories about my explanting doctor and tell you not to go to him! :) I'd love to know who you have been to since there are so few that are good in the area. My implanting doctor works out of Jeanes Hospital. For now I'll just say that his name is Dr. F. Don't want to say the entire name here. What lies he told me. Lies that we have all heard. There are also two doctors in the Bala Cynwyd area. I went to one for my explant. I wouldn't really recommend him as I really had to fight for him to do what I was determined to have done! The other one I would never go to. My Mom had a bad experience with him. So I'd stay clear from there too.

If you can travel, your best bet would be using one of the doctors on this site. I couldn't because I was so sick I could barely get out of bed let alone travel.

I'll be glad to help you in any way that I can. Your story sounds so much like mine. Lost it all, suicide attempt, lost friends then lost family members after the suicide attempt. It is really crazy.

Can't wait to hear back from you. I'm very interested in knowing what PS you went to and what attorney you used for your LTD as I told you that mine had been terminated.

Hope to talk soon and you are in the right place for help! dmm0118 <dmm0118@...> wrote:

I would like to thank all of you that have gotten back to me so soon. I actually drug my butt upstairs this morning to read some more and there were some replies to "my cry for help" already. It is so nice to finally reach out to someone for help and have them pull me in instead of push me away. I've been told for so long "it's all in my head". God Bless all of you !!!I am 36 yrs old and had my first surgery at age 21 to correct infantile breast disorder. My surgeon at that time used silicone implants that ruptured 2 years later (and that's how it all began).I live in PA, in the NE suburbs of Philadelphia. I was going to call my plastic surgeon today and ask about explant surgery but I think I'll wait. I'm not sure if he "believes" that my implants are the root of my problems. He knows about all of my medical problems including

being diagnosed with Sjogrens Syndrome (auto immune) and never mentioned about taking the implants out.My greatest concern about explant surgery or any surgery now is my increased risk of necrosis and all other abnormal wound healing. I've suffered from necrosis 3 times now and the pain is unbearable. It has taken years for the skin to grow back. I had to go through testing, hyper barric chambers, skin grafting, durable medical equipment and supplies, and home health care. None of which worked. I'm still trying to heal (grow skin) from my 4/03 surgery. Also my immune system is sooooo weak, as am I, and I don't know if I would be able to take the surgery. Most doctors won't even touch me because because my lab results are so very crazy !!! Can you please help me with a list doctors in my area that "believe". If there are none I will find a way to travel. Also I would love to start to detox but I don't know where to begin. My

head is very cloudy and I'm finding it all so very confusing. I already drink 3+ gallons of water a day because of my Sjogrens but I need a road map of where to begin and in which order.I know that I am asking alot from all of you for only being on this site for 2 days but all of your help would be greatly appreciated. In turn I would love to be able to help someone someday so that they don't end up like me. Opinions expressed are NOT meant to take the place of advice given by licensed health care professionals. Howdy neighbor !!

I don't think we know each other because no one I know has ever had

implant surgery....Only me !! I am about 10 minutes away from

Thunder Hollow.

My implanting doctor 14 years ago was also a Dr. " F " . He was also a

liar. Back then he was in the King of Prussia area and I tried to

contact him a few years back but was no where to be found. The last

known hospital I found him at was in Virginia. I wonder if yours and

mine are one in the same. And possibly he is back in town.

Hmmmmm.....

My second surgeon (current) is Dr. " G " in Philadelphia. I need to

make an appointment with him ASAP to get my records and to discuss

quite a few things with him.

My rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, and hematologist are all down

at Jefferson. My Endocrinologist works out on the main line @

Lankenau Hospital. My Psychiatrist works out of Einstein on City

Line Ave. Now that I have all this new found info however and

present it to them I don't know how they are going to react. I may

be looking for all new doctors that believe in silicone poisoning

and all of the problems associated with breast implants.

I would love to see one of the doctors on this site however travel

right now is out of the question. Like you were I also am way to

sick.

I tried a bathing detox today which was disgusting and when I'm done

here I'm going to check out a few more sites that others here have

recommended. Possibly by doing some strict detox, I will gain some

energy and be able to travel to a surgeon on this site and have my

explant surgery done correctly. I have no faith or trust in many

doctors today. A new one would have to come highly reccomended.

My LTD is currently through my previous employer from 2 1/2 years

ago. They however just notified me that I had to file with SSD so I

have that battle in front of me now. I'll be looking for a lawyer

soon.

Currently I pay $512.00 per month for medical insurance with barely

any Rx coverage. My 7-10 medications cost me about $1000.00 per

month and on top of that I have copays !! I am financially

crushed !! Thank God for my family !!

Thanks so much for listening...since I found this site I feel that a

huge weight has been lifted.

Hope to talk soon !!

Good night and God Bless !!

Dawn Marie,

Several things come to mind . . .

Don't expect your doctors to agree that your implants

are causing your problems . . . The AMA line is that

implants are safe. As long as they don't deviate from

that line, they are legally safe! Don't have to

testify.

Secondly . .. do a websearch for Prescription drug

assistance . . . Without assets, you should be able to

get your prescriptions for virtually nothing! You will

have to fill out more forms than you can imagine, and

order through the manufacturer . . . but, it's worth

it!

However, you'll find that the women here usually do

better with fewer medications, not more. Most of the

medications have a downside that require further

medications to relieve! . . . Nasty circle! Which

drugs are you taking?

We can help you formulate questions for a prospective

surgeon . . . Basically what you want to know is if

the doctor will commit to removing your implants " en

bloc " . . . i.e. remove the capsule with the implant

still inside. . . They may drain salines first, but

the idea is to keep from spilling the contaminated

contents into your chest cavity. Also, a good doctor

will put in drains to avoid a fluid build up. They're

a nusiance, but may preven future problems. If a

surgeon tells you that you will be deformed, or that

you need to reimplant, regardless of your wishes, move

on! . . . It wouldn't hurt to tell the doctor about

this group and that we are always searching for

doctors who are willing to do the job right! We have

some information about the danger of retained capsules

you can take to your surgeon.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

You are truly a (my) guardian angel and well of information. Thank

you, Thank you, Thank you....

Tomorrow I'll do a search for prescriptions plans...it is worth a

shot and would be a blessing in disguise.

I had a feeling that most doctors don't (or won't) want to make the

link between the illnesses we read about here and breast implants.

In turn I am finding that I don't have a lot of trust or faith in

many doctors. I'm becoming more and more skeptical as the days pass.

When I have my explant surgery I would really like to see a surgeon

from this site. One that is highly recommended. One that will do the

procedure correctly. No more surprises or lies.......My problem

being is that I am entirely to sick at this time to travel. It's

killing me to sit here and type (one-handed) let alone travel. My

time will come. I have hope on my side now.

My Rx's are a mile long with an even longer list of horrible, I mean

HORRIBLE, side effects. Hear they are....maybe you can help ??

Effexor---Depression----terrible brian fog and fatigue

Klonopin---Anxiety-----drowsy and highly addictive

Xanax---Anxiety------????????????

Evoxac----Sjogrens------doesnt even work !!

Pilocarpine----Sjogrens----Profuse sweating, night sweats, insomnia

Prednisone----Inflammation---Weight gain, bloating, mood swings, etc.

Miralax----Rx Laxative for gastroparesis (paralysis of the stomach)

Percocet, Darvocet, Dilaudid--PAIN--Necrosis --name a side effect !!

Lidoderm Patches---MORE PAIN----Necrosis

(I see my Endocrinologist on Wednesday for my thyroid nodules and

guess what...do discuss more medication!!!)

Half the time my body doesn't know when its coming or going...and as

far as my head I'm out there !!

However, as you say, according to the AMA there is nothing wrong me.

I'm a walking pharmacy!!!

Hi Again Dawn,

I know for sure that our implanting doctors are not the same. He has been at Jeanes for years and is still there. However, I think that the rheumatologist that you are going to is one that I have seen in the past. He was supposed to be the best in Philadelphia according to Philadelphia Magazine. All I can say is that I'd like to know how much he paid the magazine to have his article in there. He was terrible. Does your rhematologist at Jefferson have a last name that starts with Lev? If so, run out of there as fast as you can. This man almost killed me. I had three appointments with him. Everybody said how wonderful he was so I was very relived to have found a good one. He spent about 5 minutes with me and the other two appointments I didn't even see him but saw his assistant. He was just too busy to even pop his head in the door! His assistance put me on prednisone which caused the most terrible pain

I've ever had in my liver. I called after taking it for two days and his assistant told me to continue to take it and that you just can't stop taking it. I had only been on it for two days!!! I dropped him like a hot potato. I told my primary doctor about him and he said that he would no longer refer anyone to this guy as he heard the same complaint about him from one of his other patients.

Anyway, I hate to say that I really haven't found any good doctors in the Philadelphia area. I must say that at this point I only go from time to time just to satisfy Medicare. They evaluate you every so often and if you aren't going to the appropriate doctor and/or doctors, they will terminate you. If you need the name of a good SSDI attorney I can provide you with that. He is located very close to you in that new business center close to the mall and LA Fitness. I went to him and I didn't even have to go to court. I was sent to two of their doctors and was approved within about 8 months. He took a small precentage from my back pay. I guess you didn't have to hire an attorney to win your LTD case. I did as I was turned down immediately. My attorney battled them for a year and a half. I got all of my back pay and then seven months of checks and then they cut me off. He took the fight on again but I

lost the case. I've since been trying to find another LTD attorney. I've seen several that told me I have a very good case but didn't want to take it on because it would be a long battle because of the particular insurance company that they would be fighting. I was told one of the worst!

When I first became ill, like you I was put on so many meds it was just crazy. I was sleeping for 20 hours a day. That was when I was still in Delaware. Crazy. Every doctor had me on two or three different types of meds. When I moved back to the Philadelphia area to be close to family, I decided that all of the meds were crazy and I stopped taking all of them except klonopin. It helped with my sleeping problems. I could see that my condition improved somewhat. I was sleeping 15 hours as apposed to 20. I could walk on my own as long as I held onto something no more being in a wheelchair.

I'm surprised that you even have to pay for your medications. Mine were covered through my LTD Insurance but as soon as they terminated me, I had to start paying for my own. I'm currently looking into Partnership for Prescription Assistance.

I no longer go to a psychiatrist as the last one I went to was located in delaware and I later found out that she was secretly working for the company. I was in total shock. The company that I worked for practically owned all of Delaware so it doesn't surprise me. I took the job there in Delaware and 5 months later I was totally disabled. I thought that it was depression. I went from working long hours, managing the IT department for a company in Jenkintown to sitting at a desk watching a computer monitor with software that monitored all of their Unix servers for hackers or people trying to access unauthorized files. I thought I'd die. The job was explained much differently to me at my interview but when I got there I had no idea that I'd be sitting looking at computer screens for hours. I learned alot but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I thought that it was depression so I went to their recommended

doctor. She changed my meds and my face one morning was yellow. I went to see her, she must have noticed my coloring and told me that I must be taking too much vitamin A since this turns your skin yellow. She bad mouthed the company that I worked for. At first I didn't bite but after being sick and not one person calling to find out if I was ok just to find out when I was coming back, I opened my heart to her. Agreed with her that the company was somewhat cult like and the people were somewhat cut throat. My last appointment with her was pretty mind boggling as she told me there was nothing wrong with me. I just wanted to pretend to be sick so that I could collect and not have to work. This woman didn't know me at all! I was a workaholic not a slacker. Never saw her again and later heard rumors that she secretely worked for the company as they were very paranoid about all of their employees.

Well, I can go on and on about the last 4 years of my life but I won't. You need to get off of those meds and get explanted. I can't recommend a doctor in Philadelphia that is good. I think going to one recommended by this site would be much better. I had no other choice as I was pretty much bed ridden and didn't have many family members that could help me out. After all you have been through, please try to get to one of the doctors that these people have been to. I think that the closest one to where we are would be Dr. Feng. She is located in Ohio. I heard that she is excellent. I went to a PS in Bala Cynwyd. I didn't like him but in the end everything turned out ok for me. I just wouldn't suggest you going to him though. You had enough problems.

I'll be moving within the next month. I'm moving back to the area where I had been, not the same development can't afford that anymore but it will be about 10 minutes from it. Once I'm settled, maybe we can talk somemore and I would be glad to help you in anyway that I can. I know what you are going through, I've been there. I'm still not 100%. I'd say about 70% but much improved since getting the implants out.

By the way....I never told anyone that I had implants so when you say you don't know anyone with implants you just might and they aren't saying. dmm0118 <dmm0118@...> wrote:

Wow Dawn

that is awful about your healthcare costs. I don't see how you can

make those payments. Please make sure you find a way to get the

insurance to pay for that explant. I don't think you should have a

problem convincing them of the medical necessity. That is exciting

about your sea salt bath. It sure shows something is coming out! I

use seasalt baths all the time. Clay baths are also very good. I

have had very good luck with those. Actually baking soda is good

and so is organic vinegar. There are so many cheap things you can

use. An especially powerful one is hydrogen peroxide and epsom

salts. You use 2 cups epsom salts in very warm water. AFter about

10 minutes, pour in two 16oz size bottles. Stay in about 20-30

minutes. This can be powerful for some people and you can start

much less if you like. In fact I always advise people start slowly

with something in case they have a big " cleansing reaction " or

Herxheimer. That is when the toxins being released stir things up

becuause they can't be eliminated that fast and they can make you

feel pretty badly until they are.

I agree with rogene about the flouride. Studies link it to cancer

and I think it is another toxin. There are probably other things

you can do. I bet that your sorjorhn's (probably massacred the

spelling on that one!) will go away as you explant and get better.

Whatever you do, please make sure that your explanting surgeon will

do it right. Hopefully you can get well enough to travel. I still

think that Dr.Feng would be a great choice especially because of the

necrosis you have had in the past.

love, kathy

Hi. You are on some really strong meds and when you come off of

them you will need to do it slowly and carefully. Especially with

the prednisone (would be best to have a doctor's advice on that) and

effexor. Some people suffer strong withdrawal symptoms from effexor

and xanax and the pain meds you are on. These meds are probably

making you also even more brainfogged and fatigued. It would be

really nice if you could find a good naturopathic doctor that could

help you get off of these drugs while they work on helping to get

your body healing.

Since you said that your immune system is poor, have you thought

about trying colostrom? It can help support your immune system. I

find it to be a very good product. Also, trying some of the GArden

of LIfe products may be of help. Their RM-10 should help with

imflammation and be immune supportive. They also have a very good

digestive enzyme product. For that matter so does Generation+. You

can buy both at appleadayandbeyond.com. They should help you with

your gastroparesis. I would defintiely get off that Mirolax drug.

It is useless. I have dealt with gastroparesis and I do it

naturally. Also the 2 sjogren's drugs sound like they could go as

long as there are no withdrawal effects. Tell your current doctor

you are no longer interested in being on drugs and you will not take

any new ones unless you are clearly convinced of the need and you

research it first. You need to be in the driver's seat not him.

After all, he works for you, not the other way around. I won't go

to doctors anymore that won't listen to me. There are those around

who will work with you, but they are few and far between. It would

be good to be working on getting your immune system built up a

little prior to surgery so that you can avoid past problems. I

really think a good colostrom supplement would help. I use 's

GArden and I can give you the link if you like. I have used other

brands but I like this best. I really think the sjogren's will go

away as you get better after explant. Good luck!

Hugs, kathy
