That's a new one to me. I've always had to clear my throat, as did

my RAI-hypo mother. hmmmm My husband says I sounds like a car

trying to start its engine.........

Me, too! I've always chocked it up to allergies of some kind (can't

afford allergy docs either..lol). I have to get up a couple of times

a night and clear my throat because it feels like I can't swallow at

all. But yeah, I always have to clear my throat. Seems to have

started about 5-6 years ago if I recall.

Ella,

Also, long standing hypo makes your voice lower and deeper. This could be in

part what they are referring to.

on one of the web sites I found that mentioned throat

I just got another flashback of my mom before she died...gave me the

shivers. Her voice, as I've explained it so many times, sounded like

Demi with laryngitis...and her voice got SO deep! I thought it

had to do with menopause or something.

I catch my voice sounding " low " at times and it sort of freaks me

out. I immediately think it sounds, well, less than

feminine..probably compared to the way I usually sound. But this

could also be perimenopause, right?? I mean a " perhaps in my case, "

because I've not exactly been dx'd with hypo yet or anything.
