Hello and other newcomers,

A big warm welcome to you all. I’ve been

fortunate enough to be with ASPIRES for 8 years or so (more?) and still

enjoy it enormously. The Listers who post regularly have become very much

like family to me over this period. You cant help but find the List to be

of enormous help. It tends to be rather seldom that anyone brings

up anything new to discuss. Believe me, we older listers have heard

it all many times, and between us there’s little that hasn’t happened

to one or other of us; so we are happy to discuss and help where possible.

I’m 74, -probably one of the oldest two or three in the

group. I live in , Australia, by myself, along with two

beloved pussycats. I was diagnosed after a lifetime of puzzles

about myself, about 8 or 9 years ago, and it was a revelation and a comfort for

me at the time.

I’ve been married three times, - largely disastrously,

though I still have good relations with my third wife from whom I’ve been

separated for quite a long time. Two grown up children and one

grand-daughter. I retired from the regular

work-force about 18 years ago; but am a Professional Actor and Platform

presenter in a casual way now.

Like everyone else, I look forward with pleasure to your

contributions to the Board, and most of us have no objection to being

approached privately on our own email addresses when you find you want to

communicate in a confidential fashion.

All the best

Ron. (along with Kittles and Tamino …. Miau!

Incidentally, , are you a dog or a cat person???)

Subject: Re: Question for /moderators

I just joined this group last week and haven't had time to

do

a proper introduction (sorry all...it will come, I promise!), but wanted to

let you know that as a mother of two, one AS and one NT, and married to a

man who is AS, I am absolutely interested in talking about kid issues too.

In fact, as is typical, our search for answers relating to my older son's

issues led to the AS diagnosis and a huge light bulb going on about my

husband - it explained so many things!

I've already been so impacted by the posts I've seen since last

week...looking forward to participating more. :-)
