Guest guest
We took a family drive last Sunday. The A/C was hardly cool and the kids were in the back seat...all their little heads soaking wet. We finally got to the coast and Aaaah! Relief!!! I was all but hanging out the window like a dog. But, then the kids started saying how cold they were! It was hard, but we rolled up the windows for them. Bummer! It felt sooo nice! Now, I am back home to the hot inland, where it has been around 90, with a lot of humidity. I am dreaming of laying in an icebox.... :-) -- In MSersLife , " Bev " <bubbly1@g...> wrote: > Yeah, I don't know about everyone else, but I hate to make everyone else in my family " miserable " just so I can keep cool. The heat kills me. Bad for my boys, because they want to swim at grandpa's and I can't go. I hate being a prisoner in my house. Trista Bill wrote: How is everyone today? Guest guest
I have a 5 year old son who doesn't understand any of this and it's frustrating (for both of us) when I can't join him when my aunt takes him to the pool. This got me wondering, are there any books geared to kids whose parents have ms? was just curious, i read to my 3 yr old all the time and a book on that subject would help. jennifer

Guest guest
Hi Bill, I stay out in the heat way too long too. I have three kids. When I feel like I'm going to fall over, I just sit down and rest. Ten minutes rest seems to help for now. I live in the north, my kids go back to school on the Wednesday after Labor Day. Take care, Bill wrote: How is everyone today? Has the warm weather caused any of you any trouble? I have a tendency to be stubborn and stay out in it too long. Guest guest
Hi Bill, ) Just after my Mother arrived, my A/C in the car really started acting up. I thought I'd noticed it before, but it waited until Mom was here to be sure it went evil. <gg> got it fixed and what a nice difference! Unfortunately, my Mother left me again so that nice cool car just sits and waits for me now. (<g> @ Mom). My youngest son will be 15 this month. He knows that in seven months past that, he's old enough to get his permit. Oy vey. LOL We're still working with our oldest. was delayed in getting his permit and license because of needing to be cleared after seizures, for one. had to wait for other reasons. is ready, but nervous. Still holds back and takes his time. and I agree he just needs to go through town and show us he's comfy there and he's set. , well, hmmm. LOL He's in New Mexico for a few weeks now and family there have been helping him with his driving practice. Thank goodness! I don't know how much more I could take. LOL Actually, I've not done much of it with him for a while, because it hurts my brain and my body... and the two girls have to go with me and that's just not safe enough for them. took Josh out more recently, came in, eyes huge and said he could never do that again. ROFL Adventures of parenting. <gg> Josh may be getting a pickup and bringing it back. That would be great and I hope that works out! To keep occupied here... soon enough we'll start our Homeschooling again. My youngest just turned 2 this past weekend. Last night said "and it shows!" LOL We have two more birthdays this month, too. At the end, and are heading out for an archery deer hunt. Turkey is also in season, so will likely buy a tag for that, too, just in case. <g> is heading to Montana this weekend, with my brother (). will be getting a truck from my Uncle. 's always wanted to head up that way and never been able to... it'll be fast, but he'll like it. ) Things stayed busy enough with my family all here. Once they left it was very strange to adjust. More so because all my boys were gone that week. The first day my family left, all the boys were gone, the girls both took a nap together (that never happens! lol) and was off to work. It was a very, very odd feeling. I cannot remember the last time I was so alone. LOL I've been getting a lot of cleaning done and feeling pretty good. I'm glad that's stuck. Such energy usually doesn't stick with me so long. <gg> We're already planning a big family camping trip in October. We've asked my Mom and brother and his family to go, but aren't sure they'll want to or be able to. And I'm trying to remember I borrowed a book from my mother to read. I really liked the parts I read when I remembered. LOL Challis How is everyone today? Has the warm weather caused any of you any trouble? I have a tendency to be stubborn and stay out in it too long. Guest guest
ROFL I've seen you in my mirror after a day out and about! Challis This is one of my "red flags" that something isn't right. I have never handled heat well, but now...ick! I spent the last 2 weeks, taking kids to swimming lessons, so I was in the San Diego sun for 2 hours each day. I came home and I was wiped out. Not just "Gee, I could lay down for a while" but lay-on-the-bed-drool-into-your-pillow-can't-hardly-talk" type tired that lasted 2 hours or better (and I didn't feel better when I got up either!) I feel better if I keep in a cool room.

Guest guest
Recently I finally took my Mother's old advice and dropped an ice cube down the front of my shirt while out. My two year old has come to take a water bottle and dump water on her front and back, just like Mommy. LOL Challis I've been known to put water and a tray's worth of ice cubes in a tub and put my tootsies in when they get too hot...it hurts So good! Guest guest
LMHO! My car is a stick. Automatics are so much easier to learn on. <gg> only suffered the seizures before the brain tumor was dx'd, after surgeries and then when the tumor began to grow again before finally fully resected. After that resection, however, there was a goof made with meds and he experienced his first Tonic Clonic/Grand Mal (rather than the Partial he normally experienced). Several within a couple hours and never again. Thank God. But it was enough to delay the driving for a bit. <gg> The Partial would have done the same. Challis My wifes sister has epilepsy she is also my age. She has had trouble with seizures all her life and they got so bad she was banned from driving until she could go at least 6 months without a sezure. She went about 3 years without driving and then about 2 years ago she had a pace maker type device implanted in her and now she has not had a seizure now for ages. It made such a big change in her life. . I use to drive a stick all the time until I got married and I tried once to teach Judy and that wasn't such a good idea that drove me nuts. That was the last time I bought a car with a stick. Bill Re: How Hot is It ny Carson use to say. Hi Bill, ) Just after my Mother arrived, my A/C in the car really started acting up.
