Guest guest
I just got back the Life Extenstion blood test for my husband. He had a basic CBC and a vitamin D test run. He takes a tablespoon of CLO, Carlson's everynight and is on other supplements but no prescriptions except armour. His Vit D level is low at 20.4 so I am concerned. He also has low WBC just below the normal range. Would that be an immune thing? His cholesterol is high also at 265 which I really don't think too much of after reading the Cholesterol Myth book, but if he goes to see his regular doctor, he is going to freak and try to put him on meds. His results are not much different than a year ago. So any ideas of how to raise the Vitamin D levels? I just saw the video Dr. Mercola did on cutting cancer rist with sunlight. How do you practically do this. He works a hard physical job and so isn't much into " exercising " since he is always worn out but I told him he could walk or run with me down our country dirt road with his shirt off and get some sun. I really thought he would be in the normal range since we take CLO and have for years and he is always working outside on the ranch and getting sun. I was testing to make sure we were not overdosing. I got some D3 from Life Extension. Would a couple of those at 1000mg each be fine. How often do you need to test to avoid toxicity or how long does it take to raise levels up 30 or more points to a more healthy level? I know some of you have been working with doctors who are into Vit D. We also drink raw milk but he does not love it, only eats it with cereal or if I cook with it. Thanks in advance for all of your wonderful thoughts and ideas, Sonii
Guest guest
I think I can answer this question pretty well. My husband sees Dr Shippen and had his Vit D tested last year and it was 22 (very low). He was taking Carlson D3 2000 IU per day and His level never went beyond 27. For the last 8 weeks he has been taking Pure Encapsulations 10,0000 IU per day (2 5000 iu pills) and his tests just came back at 50. The specialist I see likes to see Vit D at 70- 85. You can test after about 2 months. What I think is amazing is that at that amount he still is only at 50. We will probably test again in about 2 mos. The Carlsons did not raise my level high enough it is in a liquid/oil form and Pure is in a powder form. My husband also has started to take calcium and has noticed a major difference (in how he feels) in adding the calcium. Karin > > I just got back the Life Extenstion blood test for my husband.
