my own personal experience with removal was much less painful than and getting them in.

I remember waking up after my removal being really surprised at how well I felt, no pain, no pain meds and this wonderful feeling of being free and light.

My explant was so quick & pain free, I needed no pain meds at all.

I'm sure you will be fine, its the best decision you will ever make

for your health.

we can all only speak form our experiences as we all had different style implants for different amount of time - some over and under the muscle so it id hard to answer the pain question.

For me personally I also found the implanting horribly painful - much more so than I expected. I had mentor - 250cc textured under the muscle. I also had to have two additional surgeries after implanting to fix complications before my 4th to finally remove them 2 years ago. I personally think the removal was not near as painful as the implanting but I had the armpit incision at the implant which made things more painful I think. Sine mine were textured they were stuck to my ribs which prompted a little more work to get them out but I will honestly say in MY experience only that explanting was not near as painful. I could sit up on my own, etc when I couldn't right after implanting. I was sore - very sore but not nearly as bad. that is my opinion. the only other issue to think about is you may have drains which might get in the way but are not really painful - lets put it this way - my doc did not use drain when he should have and I had to go back in his office twice to have blood/fluid drained manually with no numbing - we are talking very large needle here so I would definitely insist on drains. Some people do not agree with me there I am sure but at one point he had to drain over 70cc's of fluid that built up after removal it was nasty - I would have much rather dealt with the uncomfortableness of drains than that long needle anyday. Just my opinion of course

Think of it this way - they are gonna have to come out - they do not last forever. if you have any inclination they are making you sick, and I think you know the truth now, I would do it sooner than later. the faster they come out the faster you can get to healing and being normal again!!!

Hi ,

The good news is that explant is generally less painful that

implanting. I was able to be up and about with no pain in about 3

or 4 days or less. I remember the implant surgery as probably one

of the most painful things I have been through in my life! But

thank God explant is not that way.

I applaud your decision to remove the implants...it is the best

thing you can do for yourself when you are suffering mysterious

ailments and weird things going on with your body. Although the

doctors want you to believe that implants can't cause any of these

things, the women on our group will tell you that is not so. Many

of us were sick from our implants, but after removal have

experienced a healing of varying degrees, but healing is the goal we

strive for and which many have attained.

Implants don't last a lifetime. They will need to be removed or

replaced at a future time anyway, so if you are having problems now,

it is best to just get them out and move on in life. Who is doing

your explant? Are you having a total capsulectomy and drains?

Everyone is different, but I remember having an easier recovery

after explant than when I got them put in. However, I don't

remember too much pain either way. I think most women here have had

very positive explant experiences both from a standpoint of pain and

recovery so hopefully your experience will be the same. As far as

will the pain end after your explant, are you talking about the pain

you have been experiencing as a result of being sick from the

implants? If you are, then again, many women experience an

immediate reduction in their symptoms. Most women will have many

symptoms improve fairly quickly and others may take a while and alot

of detox to resolve. We are all different, and get better at

different rates, so if you don't get immediate relief, that doesn't

mean that you won't down the line. Speaking in generalities, the

overwhelming majority of women experience improvement after

explant. For many women, it becomes nearly complete, for a smaller

percentage, they will be better, but some symptoms remain. Of

course, as they pursue aggressive detox, many of these women go on

to experience further improvement. You are definitely doing the

right thing by getting these implants out. Are you getting a total

capsulectomy too? THat is very important if you want to have the

best chance of a good recovery.
