Hi everyone. As some of you know I was explanted 2 weeks ago my Dr.

Melmed. During my surgery he was only able to retrieve 80% of the

capsule because they were high and he didn't want to risk going into

the chest cavity. I'm feeling a little depressed about this since that

is one of the things that must be accomplished. You spend a lot of

money and time away from the family. I just feel a little cheated. I

know he did what was best for me, but I'm just feeling a little let

down. Now because I still have some retained capsule am I going to get

completely well? Don't get me wrong, I am still thrilled to have these

out. Everything I have read says the capsule won't dissolve, yet He

said to me they probably will. Why would he tell me that? anyway I

don't want to stir the pot. I just want to know if anyone else had an

experience like this. Did you regain all your health and stamina

back? This has been on my mind everyday, and I just needed to talk to

someone about this. Thanks Love Kim

Kim, I can understand why you are upset and concerned. I think the

first step I would take would be to call Dr. Feng and Dr. Kolb's

offices, maybe even Dr. Huang, and ask their opinions as well. Every

doctor has their own opinion usually based on their own experiences.

If you speak with these other doctors you know you will be getting a

consensus from the best of the best. First of all, did you have

textured implants? If not, then I really wouldn't worry.

Big hugs,

Hi kim,

Sorry to hear that he didn't get all of the capsule out. I know

there are many ladies who didn't have all of the capsule removed

because it just wasn't possible. Please don't get upset about it.

I don't think we can confidently say that having the entire capsule

out is a guarantee you will get well; nor is not having the whole

capsule removed a guarantee you won't get well. There are other

factors influencing whether you get well and many of those are

unknown. Some people get alot better right away. Others take

longer--sometimes much longer. Some people barely do anything

different and get better. Others pull out all the stops with

detoxing, supplements, herbs, exercise, changing their entire eating

habits, etc before they notice good improvement. And some women,

like a former lady onthis site, do all kinds of detox and still

don't improve. This woman, 2 years after explant, still wasn't

better. But then suddenly things started to kick in for her and she

is now much better. Why? We don't know. She stopped detoxing for

awhile when it didn't appear to be helping and then started all over

again. I guess all I am trying to say, is I don't think you should

panic about this. There is no cut and dried path to wellness ---

only recommended pathways! How well you can get is not carved in

stone. But I would tell you that depression, stress and worry

contribute significantly to ill health. If you let this get you

down, that will hurt your chances of getting well.

I know someone recommended talking to the doctors and that is a good

idea. I thinkthey will be reassuring. I think that I would stay

positive, focus on getting well and put this behind you. Down the

road, if you think your recovery is being impeded, you can still

look at the possibility of removing more capsule (if that is a

possibility). I would highly doubt that not having all of your

capsule removed will be the deal breaker for whether you regain

health or not. Please keep thinking positively. Your body loves

it! Tell it is getting well and it will believe you!

love, kathy

Hi Kim,

I'm so sorry to hear your news, however I would try to remain

positive. I know its not easy sometimes... My PS was not able to get

all of my capsule out either (for the same reasons..it was too close

to the chest wall because I had the implants due to a mastectomy and

had several diffent types of implants because of problems)

I was still able to see many positive changes in my health and life

and I did have textured implants.

Our bodies have a enormous ability to heal themselves!!

Sending a BIG hug and prayer your way!

Rosie =)

Kim,

I can understand how you feel . . . Dr. Melmed is one

of our trusted surgeons. If he tried to get all the

capsule out, and couldn't I'm sure he did the best he

could do. It's not always possible to get all the

capsule out without taking serious risks. He had to

make a decision, and he did. You might feel better if

you talked to him about how you feel.

You can get much better . . . but there are no

guarantees that you'll reach 100 recovery, even for

those who have their capsules removed completely. You

may have to work a little harder at doing all the

right things to reduce the burden on your body to give

it a chance to heal. It may take a little longer. But

you can do it!

Did you send your implants to Dr. Blais? If you did,

when you get a report, you'll know more about what you

are up against. You can use that information to treat

specific bacteria or organisms. It's possible that you

don't have the bad stuff that some women do. Let's

pray that you don't!

Regardless, one of the worst things you can do is to

stress over ANYTHING . . . First work at accepting

what you cannot change, then start working to do

everything in your power to do what you can.

God has given us truly incredible bodies. That the

body can heal itself. . . But just like with a car, we

have to provide what it needs, or it won't work very

well.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene
