Guest guest
I've read so much about this that I would love to try it. For my Hypothyroidism, somewhat fibrocystic breasts, Estrogen balance (I think!) all around health. I surely don't think it would HURT. But from what I can find out it is a script only? True? Where the heck can I get it otherwise? TIA
Guest guest
No, Lugol's is not Rx. Neither is the pill form of Lugol's 'Iodoral'. I think jcrows.com is one of the last few places you can get it online. At some Canadian superstore pharmacies, they have it. Also, I get my Iodoral over the counter from my Naturopath (soon to be ex ND), and it does seem to be available from a number of naturopaths, at least in my area. Here's something interesting stuff about iodine: http://www.quackcenter.com/ideficiency.html Iodine research: http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/opt_Research_I.shtml Iodine Loading Test: http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/loadTest.htm To know for sure if you need it, try an iodine loading test. However, hypOthyroidism and fibrocystic breats are definite symptoms that do point to iodine deficiency. I have no thryoid, and had fibrocystic breasts, and my loading test showed me to be hugely iodine deficient. I'm been on 50mg Iodoral (8 drops of Lugol's) since Oct. Re-tested and I'm 1/3 improved. Breasts seem to be over the fibro. When I'm Iodine sufficient, I will drop down to 12.5mg (1 pill, or 2 drops Lugol's). Sam (thyroidless, ovaryless, iodized, Armourized) Lugol's?
