Guest guest
Rosette, Very few people get acne on iodine and when they do it is a different kind of acne called bromide acne-- caused by the iodine detoxing bromide. This can almost always be avoided by taking 3 grams or more of vitamin C. Celtic salt (from the healthfood store) in water or on foods helps. Magnesium and selenium also help. We've been doing a lot of research on iodine and followed many women using iodine for the past two years so we've seen many situations improve. Lynne I have been interested in the iodine thing, but I have heard that it may cause acne, which I have always had a tendency toward, and may lower thyroid production. So I have hesitated on that until I learn more.
Guest guest
Laurel, You're saying what people say who are detoxing bromide heavily. At the Iodine Conference, they talked about using a salt water protocol to get rid of these bromide detox effects. I've been using the protocol once a day unless I get symptoms, then more. See: www.breastcancerchoices.org/drshevin I take a half teaspoon of Celtic Salt. If I take less, I crave salt. Iodine is proving to be a necessity for women. Our iodine levels have dropped 50% in 30 years. Breast cancer rose from 1 in 23 to 1 in 7 during that time.
