Guest guest
This is from Kathie, her story is below. She wanted to post herself but is having trouble accessing the group. Anyone know of how to speed up explant process (with a ruptured implant) and get Medicare to cover it? Thanks! Kacey From: VerdiResident@... Subject: Ruptured Saline Implant Dear Kacey, I hate to bother you but Lany approved my membership into the Support Group but I still can't get in. I had a mammogram on 5/16/05 and I noticed on the digital imaging screen that the right breast had a real problem and actually it was leaking. When I questioned the tech she said she could not discuss it with me and I would have to wait for the report, which subsequently came 2 weeks later. I am going to try to make this short as I can. I got implanted in 81'. I came down with polymyalgia rheumatica in 95' (a very painful connective tissue and joint disease). I am experiencing memory loss and lack of concentration. As a result of my illness I was fired from my job of 11 years because they said I had an attitude problem.....hello....When you are in pain 24/7 it takes it's toll. I am now on disability and voila, the implant ruptures. I have read hundreds of stories from women who had implants and so many of them say they have a connective tissue disease. My rheumatologist told me that breast implants could not, would not and will not cause illness. I am so mad and angry about this. I have lost the last 10 years of my life and if their is a chance that having these removed will improve my health then by all means I want to do it. I am starting to have heart palpitations the last few days and I am very scared. I am on steriods for the PMR so if there was any infection I would be screwed because the steroids would mask the symptoms of infection. I can't get in to a ps until 6/29 and then God only knows how long I will have to wait before surgery, that is if Medicare will pay for it. Is there anything I can do to get faster help? Sincerely, Kathie Please write to Kathie directly at VerdiResident@... P.S. Does someone know how to help her gain access to the group? Thanks!
