Guest guest
I'm glad you said this Dianne, as brands can differ alot. Another that worked so well for my uncle, he stopped taking his Vioxx .. Shark Cartilage. It turned out he had prostate cance that spread to the bone, so really he was treating the wrong thing, but oddly it did work for him for a long time. It was very expensive back then, and prices thankfully have dropped, but it seems to have waned in popularity. Another friend took shark liver oil with the cartilage and it started to actually heal up. I think the healing is due to the compound Alkylglycerols. Great Lakes Gelatin is maybe $10 for a 1 lb canister. One quart per day can do miracles. A friend on another list who had a very bad fall off a roof last year is finally starting to heal up after eating his version of Jello. Fruit juice or Celestial Seasonings fruit tea blends work great as flavoring. A bit of sugar and you're all set. Doesn't hurt to add cottage cheese or plain yogurt for the branch-chain amino acids. These promote healing too so all your metabolic bases will be covered. ps .. another friend used DMSO dilute 20% and 5% iodine (1 tbs per cup) and soaked cotton balls w/ it. Placed 2 strategically on his knees, put coet-type cotton pads over them and wrapped his knees and went to bed for the night. One deep treatment like this every 6 months is enough to keep him pain-free. Hope you feel better fast. --tls From: Kore Subject: OT/Glucosamine for arthritis .. in 1998, I was having severe pain in my knees. I live on the fifth floor of a walkup, and climbing the stairs was becoming quite a problem. Glucosamine gradually took the pain away. Within two months it was completely gone and didn't come back. Quite a dividend for an outlay of about $60! (This was before I was aware of iherb, now it would cost about $36.) BTW, not all glucosamine is equally effective. I used the powder form by Enzymatic Therapy. I'm feeling some pain in my right knee lately, but it seems to be a muscle or ligament rather than arthritis. I'll try the glucosamine, just in case, but I may have to come up with something new. If anyone is aware of a supplement that helps with muscle pain, I'd love to hear about it. I will of course also be using DMSO topically. --Thanks, Dianne
Guest guest
I make a nasty brew of glucosamine, MSM, magnesium, Biosil, whenever I remember. The MSM I bel. is the real helper here - though the biosil is for collegen support, and has been tested. For arthritic pain, try Teasel Root, in v. small doses (2 drops) Pregnenalone and glutathione are two of the most imp things we can ingest for all over support w/inflammation. Trying to find out if I can dissolve my glutathione in DMSO ? What happened to that kilodaton question I saw a while ago? MB
