Guest guest
Hi Alli; I had back sugery and after the surgery I still have croin pain in my lower back. It is called " Failed Back Symdrone " Go to WebMD to see my condition. Anyway I have a " Dorsel Column Stimulator " I have a computor battery implanted in my hip about the size of a pocket watch. There is a wire from the battery that goes under my ribs to my spine that goes to my spinal cord . I have a battery charger, and just got my new DCS. I am on my 3rd one now. This new one will last about 10 years.  First one was in Oct.1998 .. The wire is very fine fiber optic wiber and it never hurts at all. I have a hand held device that I place on the batter on my hip that controles the amount of electricy, I can have it on high, med, or low . I get the elecity from my hips down to my toe's. I have permanate nerve damege from the operation. I had a broken back and had to have this operation or my vertraba would have severed my spine. The elec. " Mask the Cronic Pain " and the elec. feels better than pain. I do take pain med's also. It helps my pain 40-50% . If you have Cronic pain than I think you should ask your doctor if you could have a DCS . I hope this helps in some way for you. Where is your pain located and is it Cronic ? GARY Have a Good day Alli   I wanted to know from others that have had long lasting nerve blocks, what kind of nerve blocks you have had and what you have had them for. I know they have the cortisone/lidocaine shots. They also are using the botox shots for Trigeminal Neuralgia. I just was curious if anyone had either of these or any other kind and what your experiences were like. I'd love to hear from everyone about what you have had done and what your success rate was, regardless of what it was for (shoulder, knee, back, etc). Thanks all, Alli
