Guest guest
Hi n, How is it you react to the contrast? I ask because when the Tech pulled me out to baste me (add contrast), I felt a bit of *reaction*, though it wasn't something intense. Curious what you experience. Challis , MRI's are easy for me because they cannot use any infusion as I am allergic to so many of them--cannot imagine why--so they just do them straight and those big, fat plaques just smile away and prac tically WAVE at those technicians! Such fun--but MY neurologist finds them convincing, which is nice--Love to you, n Rojas Re: Re: AAARGH MRI's, one of my favorite past times, I am going for a world title to see if I can become Queen of the MRI with a double honor of having my blood/plasma replaced with gadolinium. I went from an MRI virgin in Dec 2004 to at last count 6. Diagnostic, maybe? necesarry, maybe not? ly, I don't really want anymore cause every time I go I hear the same thing, that med isn't working, you have new lesions. I really must whine and say this, whats the point. Ok I'm done.
Guest guest
Really? All the research I did before consenting to an MRI showed Gadoliniu, by any name, wasn't a contrasting agent with Iodine. I'd be very interested in anything you have with info to the contrary. Thanks! (I know Iodine can be added, for some things. Could you be allergic to something else as well as Iodine?) Challis Oh, well , I just plain had all out anaphyactic shock! I had been told that they had contrast material without iodine, to which I am wildly allergic--not true! Cheers! n, lucky to be here--still--well, lucky for me! Re: Contrast allergy -- Re: AAARGH Hi n, How is it you react to the contrast? Guest guest
Very interesting. I'd say unusual, but I know nothing. LOL I simply became very sick to my stomach. Not the norm for me at all. lol Challis I just had to butt in here (sorry) my father has a reaction to the contrast too, tho probably not what one would expect. They inject the contrast, he pees his pants (shrug) don't know why but better him than me WeavinnRaftin@... wrote: Hi n, How is it you react to the contrast? Guest guest
Hi n, I understood that you had experienced serious complications. I was only commenting on my fathers "allergic" reaction to it. I don't think his was a reaction as much as a weak bladder LOL. I have suffered anaphylactic shock after a bee sting at age 8. I carry an Epipen at all times now in case it ever happens again. Anaphylaxis is nothing to joke around about-death is a very real possibility if not treated promptly. Take care-n Rojas wrote: , total anaphylactic shock is simpleƱ you just pass out and they resuscitate you with Epniphrine and Diphenhydramine )Benadryl--should that fail, there are two or three charming options--Decadron, Prednisone or death, and I am not kidding!
