Guest guest
Hi Irene, Yes, breathing was very difficult at one point. I couldn't walk from the living room to the kitchen without being out of breath. It was so bad that it sounded as though I had been running a marathon. Also, before explant, I would sweat profusely just to walk down the steps from my bedroom. I also had strange sounds in my ears. I would compare it to holding a sea shell up to your ears and hearing the ocean. I didn't have heart palpitations but my chest hurt on some days. I was definitely totally disabled from them. It is just terrible what they can do to you. In fact I must thank you. I've been thinking that I haven't really come all that far. I had forgotten how sick I really was. We are all here for you, so if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate. As far as what your symptoms mean? You are ill from the implants and the symptoms at times can be quite strange. Doctors would usually look at me like I was nuts when trying to explain what I was going through. That is before I knew that it was the implants causing all of my problems. Do you have silicone or saline? Irene <iwebb40@...> wrote: Hi.. was wondering if anyone ever experienced a harder time breathing when they had their implants in. I also seem to have what I think are heart palpitations or times when I am very aware of my heartbeat. I get so confused as to what all my symptoms mean. Can anyone help? Guest guest
Beth...I have saline implants. I know it is not a coincidence that I have started to feel very strange gradually since I had them put in. My doctor looks at me strangely too and basically tells me there is nothing wrong with me. I just had a mammogram doen and my husband basically thinks this is a signed bill of health. They just don't get it. Today my breasts feel hard and very uncomfortable. My doctor said that saline are pretty safe and she seems to act as if I am imagining all of this. I say...so many wommen cannot be all crazy. This group has finally made me see this is not all in my head but in my chest! > Hi.. was wondering if anyone ever experienced a harder time breathing > when they had their implants in. Guest guest
Irene, Sometimes I wonder about the responses we get from doctors. The party line they have been given is that breast implants are safe . . . They can't get in trouble by repeating that. If they do admit to the problems, it can open a bag of worms for them among their peers. I think this strange look may be reflecting those doubts/fears. One thing for sure, they do not want to put on your records that your implants made you sick - since they can't prove that themselves - then have to go to court on your behalf sometime in the future. Doctors hate to be put on that spot! Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Dearest Irene: I had a mammogram one week before my silicone implants were removed. It showed no rupture and yet when the plastic surgeon opened me up a week later my breast implants were grossly ruptured....mammograms do not always show a rupture. If your breasts are hard, they must come out, they should never have been put into your healthy body in the first place. That is why we should sue the plastic surgeons too, because they know that these devices are not safe. Honey, just stay with us and we will all help you to get through this....love..Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``` Re: Question to the group - Irene > Beth...I have saline implants. Guest guest
Whats really a shame is once you confront your with the right question and they have to admitt it's the implants causing your problems, a lot of them will them cancel you as a patient , happen to me three times! Guest guest
Anytime you ladies have a mmamogram you have to make sure that they are giving up a DISPLACMENT mammogram. If they don't move that implant forward they can not see the silicone sitting behind it. These mamograms are not normally done. Three mammograms clear, the one displacement mammogram two months later showed a lot of migrated gel. When you are scheduled for a mammogram you need to call the radiology department YOURSELF and talk to a nurse! Tell her you have implants and if you think there are ruptured TELL THE NURSE BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT and when you get to your appointment ask again and again is this a displacement mammagram? If she says " your doctor didn't ask for that kind " tell her " WELL YOU NEED TO CALL HIM THEM! Do not think that your doctor will just naturally have the right test done, cause he won't. " REMEMBER LADIES THEY DON " T WANT YOU TO KNOW THE TRUTH. " The very first thing every doctor learns in medical school is about the immune system and antibody reactions. ALL of these doctors know the truth. You have to find clever ways to get them to admitt it. The only thing I think the doctors didn't know about was the kids. I don't think any of them really thought it through completely. Have you ever ask three teen age boys " who left the computer on cause who ever did it is gonna do the dishes? " Well getting the truth out of them is exactly like getting the truth out of your doctors. You have to think! Be clever! Be creative. Don't ask them to tell you what you already know! You tell them and then DO not let them lie to you!!!!! Guest guest
I lost my trail because my plastic surgeon, Dr. Graham WOODs was killed in a helicopter crash and my medical records JUST DISSAPERED shortly after his death. Lana No records no doctor no case! MY lung specialist died in a boating accident and my first plastic surgeon died in his sleep in his fourties. I have a feeling that all of the xerogrammography's that doctor Woods had were stolen. Guest guest
Honey, all mammograms are sent to one of the hospitals, I know because I went to collect mine and they had been sent to the hospital for storage. We sent all of my mammograms and CT-Scans from Cross Cancer to to Dr. Guidoin. Later when they wanted to look at the old mammograms to compare, they had copies. I'm sorry that you feel that you have lost all of your medical records, but I bet they are in one of the other plastic surgeon's offices. When my PS left here because of a scandel, he thought that all of the records had been destroyed in a flood or fire, he was wrong because one of the nurses took as many of the files that she could carry....one was mine. Never give up....love you....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Re: Re: Question to the group - Irene >> >> >> > Irene, >> > >> > Sometimes I wonder about the responses we get from >> > doctors. Guest guest
The nurses were given depositions in prepration for the trial. No one was able to locate the x-rays and my records weren't missing. The xerogramograohy showed the silicone pouring out of the implant and moving up not my shoulders. It was devestaing! Of course when doctor Woods died there wre no more xerogramography machines left so that I could replace that piticular type of x-ray. They replaced the xerogramography several years earlier but doctor Woods kept using the one he had avalible to him through a radiologist in his building. A xerogramography shows the silicone as bright as day. There was no question that the implant was grossly ruptured. Of course none of the other x-ray equiptment thats avalible , such as the MRI and a regular mammogram will show the rupture or the migrated gel like the xerogramography. You have to understand, If you knew doctor Woods, and maybe you did, you would know that he gaurded those xerogramographys. He WOULD NOT realse them even under supena, he hand carried each x-ray to trial. He was doing a lot to help us. When everyone got thier stuff back from the settlement, i was told they did but I don't know that for sure, anyway i asked several women who had been patients of his if they got they xerogramograohys back. Each one I spoke to said " NO, I got everything else , even my implants but not my xerogramography. " Beleive me this was the biggest issue at my trail. IF A KEY PIECE OF EVIDENCE IS MISSING< YOU CAN NOT WIN! I wish that they had been stored in some facilitcy some where, and who knows maybe they are and all of the people in all of the land just couldn't find them in an eight year period, that would be just my luck. But i will say that even the judge said " SOMETHING SMELLS ROTTEN IN DENMAK " and he was reffering to the missing X-rays. Today I have at least a cup of silicone in my upper chest and armpit area that DO NOT show up on an MRI AT ALL! I'm sure you're right though and the whole thing is just a coinidence. Guest guest
Dear Friends, I have to comment on this topic because it hits home. When MDL announced their class action suit back in 95 or 96 I called my ps's office and requested my op note so I could see what kind of saline implants I had. My ps also died shortly after implantation. I was told that he did not dictate an op note before he died, JUST GREAT. So I called the surgi center to see what info they had and I was told that unfortunately "700 records were accidently destroyed and mine was one of them, Is this a conspiracy or what? I have lost the last 10 yrs of my life, I am a miserable cranky person. I hurt like the rest of you. I have had my implants for 24 yrs, thank God the right one ruptured last month during mammogram (that is another story)! I am getting them out 7/22 and am hoping for the best. I have been digesting all this information for about 3 weeks now and I am horrified, pissed, confused, you name it. If I continue typing I am going to get really nasty so I will quit for now. God Blee You All....................... LOVE, KATHIELOOKING FORWARD TO FINDING MYGOOD HEALTH AGAIN

Guest guest
Irene, YOU are NOT crazy the doctors are CRAZY! I've heard this so many times it just makes me sick. Irene, you are sick because of the implants. I listened to doctors for 3 years before I realized that it was the implants and not that I was going CRAZY! Three lost years I could have used in getting them removed and healing myself. I had a mammogram and an MRI. My doctor just ignored the fact that my implants were surrounded by abscesses! She also ignored the fact that I had a tumor. That tumor had the characteristics of being malignant. These doctors have got to pay for what they are doing to us. I don't believe anything that a doctor tells me anymore. I feel that they are just a bunch of quacks! There are a few out there and I must say a FEW that believe that these implants are causing problems. I really hate these plastic surgeons that implant us. Money, money, money. That is the bottom line! 'What goes around comes around. If not in this life then in another.' Guest guest
- Dear Kathie I am so glad to hear that you are getting your implants out and so sorry to hear that you are one more victim both of implant sickness, and having your records disappear. I was wondering if you are making sure that your implants are being removed " en bloc " . That would mean having all of the capsule removed as well as the implant iself. The capsule can contain all kinds of harmful debri from the implant as well as all kinds of pathogens and bacteria. It is extremely important to have the implants out properly to give your body the best chance to get well. Welcome to our site. If we can be of any help or support let us know. Where are you from and where are you having your explant done? Hugs, kathy -- In , verdiresident@a... wrote: > Dear Friends, I have to comment on this topic because it hits home. Guest guest
Kathie, We're a really safe place to vent! . . . Boy oh boy, do we understand! You'll be able to find out what kind of implants you had when they are removed . . . Dr. Blais will make sure of that! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Lynda, i met doctor Woods through your advice. He was a wonderful man and I thank god that he was the one that removed my implants. During my trial the manufacturers brought in dr. s to testify. He said horrible things about Dr. Woods. It broke my heart to hear the way the manufacturers went after two dead doctors that where completley unable to defend them selves. I only wish the Doctor Woods had family so they could go after Dr. s for Slander! It's all in the coourt transcripts. i was very difficult finfding his nurses almost ten years later but I did and we where able to set the record straight. Thanks for the advice, Lana >From: Lynda <coss@...> >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Re: Question to the group - Irene >Date: Thu, 30 Jun 2005 15:13:38 -0600 > >Dr. Wood did several conferences for me, and we all liked him very >much. Guest guest
Lea, Did you know that you can go to the archives and read all the old messages? . . . It takes a lot of time, but it's doable. You don't need to save every message! Love, Rogene

Guest guest
Hi Kathie, Welcome to the group! I am also very happy to hear you are having the implants removed! I had a complete saline rupture also... Its so important to get them removed properly as Kathy just pointed out! I got into the hands of what I thought was a very good plastic surgeon (director of UofM hospital in Michigan--but they left the capsules in!!! I ended up having to go through a whole other sugery! It's sad that we have to possibly travel or have extra expences to get to the right doctors, but it is soo worth it... I've had extra health problems because they were not removed properly. This is a great group and all these women really know how to help you. I hope you will see some wonderful changes in your health soon! HUGS, Rosie =) > > Dear Friends, I have to comment on this topic because it hits > home.
