Hi Dawn,

I think that I told you but I had my thyroid tested about 4 times and it always checks out ok. I had T3, T4 and TSH levels all tested. I've been to several doctors to have the levels tested and told them that I'd like to be put on the meds anyway. I read somewhere that even though your thryroid levels are normal, there could be a problem with the thyroid. Since I have three nodules on the thyroid I begged all of them to put me on these meds and all have refused. I don't get it.

So how do you get the doctor to prescribe the medication if your thyroid does test as normal? Dawn A <daldre@...> wrote:

Beth,

My levels were always completely normal from the get go. My Tsh was

approximately .84... My t3 and t4 free were both completely normal

within the upper 1/3 of the range.

The only reason I scrambled and pushed and ultimately did get

thyroid medication was because I was told by my ps that implants

could not possibly be doing this to me. So, I plugged in my symptoms

and thyroid disorder kept coming up.

And symptomatic doctors, especially endocrinologists are so dumb

that they don't even recognize the new TSH range and will call you

normal. If the TSH is over 2.0 it is highly suspect of a thyroid

disorder according to the new guidelines set by the American

Endocrinological Association ( i think that's it).

The thyroid meds were the only thing that got me through three years

of hell.

Dawn,

I went through the same thing. All my symptoms were more or less thyroid related due to the implants. I was told that if it isn't a thyroid problem and they give me the meds, it could really make me ill. I had already been ill and was willing to take the chance. I think that these doctors are just too cautious because they are afraid of being sued.

Beth,

No, quite the contrary, I believe that the doctors and Pharm.

companies have quite an investment in keeping you ill. Look at all

the symptoms we have that can be treated with additional

medication... pain meds, anti depressants, hyper tension meds, on

and on... there is a drug for every ill.... that is why we call

it " Symptomatic Medicine " they continually treat symptoms without

finding the source as a holistic practitioner would.

Dawn,

Yes, you have a very good point. I just know that here in Pennsylvania we lost alot of our doctors because so many people were suing. Apparantely there were more lawsuits in this state than any other. This caused malpractice insurance to sky rocket and in turn, many doctors left the state.

I know that I have been feeling it. I can't find a good doctor (that is an oxy-moron) and when I do find a doctor, I have to wait about 3 months to get an appointment. Its crazy in this state!Dawn A <daldre@...> wrote:

They told everyone in our state that the lawsuits were causing the doctors

to leave too. Not so... We don't even have punitive damages in this state.

You can not sue your HMO and the pharamcutical companies have a blanket of

protection in most states so you can't sue them, and if you do you can not

win. I was lucky to be able to set a presidence in our state last year in

Federal court that removed the blanket of protection from cosmetic surgery

products only. The doctors are leaving because the insurance complanies are

racking them over the coles and blaming it on women who have illnesses cause

by a pharacutical comany and other people that have been injured thrrough

the neglegence of others and have no recourse to get the help they need.

When people don't sue the billioniares that sold them the product that made

them sick then the TAX payers pay for the medical costs and not the

responsible parties. The reason the my case was the only one I know of that

actually make it to trial in this state is because WE HAVE NO PUNITIVE

DAMAGES and most states that due are capped at 250,000. Huge settlement

awards for one and nothing for the others isn't fair. But you can bet your

bottom dollar as soon as one person sue they change the laws to prevent

anyone else from getting the help they need. I've watched it happen. Lana

Hi,

I believe that the doctors absolutely want to keep you ill. I don't disagree with you there. However, here in Philadelphia you literally have to beg for any medication. This is what I have experienced. My last visit to the rheumatologist was another begging session. I told him that I started taking herbal supplements and he told me that he didn't want me taking any other meds while on them. I asked him what I should do for my achy joints and sleep problems. He refused to prescribe anything.

I have experienced this many times. They do not want to prescribe any meds. The only thing I'm taking now is Klonopin and have been on it for years. I have a very difficult time sleeping because my system is used to it. Any doctor I go to refuses to increase my dosage. So I have to take a benadryl just in order to sleep.

Has anyone else experienced this? It sounds like just the opposite.

Even after my explant, it was like terrible to try and get pain medication. I was prescribed only one weeks worth of perkocet. After that I was told to take tylenol for pain.Lana Transue <lanadearest@...> wrote:

Interesting it was our rheumatologist who took the hypersensitivie tests and

told us to stay away from silicon dioxide. Benadryl is loaded with silicon

dioxide. Read the label! You should really be taking liquid hydroxizine.

It's a silicon free allery medication. Have you check the ingredients in the

klonopin? I would if I were you. It amazes me to see how many of you are

taking medications that you shouldn't be. No wonder everyone is so damn

sick! Lana

Lana,

I suspect you have information that very few people in

this entire country have . . . Including the

specialists! . . . Keep sharing!

Which OTC medications/supplements don't have any

silicon? Is there a certain brand that doesn't?

I just checked on the medication Klonopin and I don't see any silicon in the

things they have listed. I also don't see what they re ausing as an

anti-caking agent so i will look into this further tommorow morning. I have

no idea which drugs don't have it niether do the doctors or even the

pharamisists. I know there are fifty different kinds of amoxicillian and I

think fourty nine of them have it. I know benedryl has it. One of the

Claritians has it one doesn't. You have to be diligent about reading the

active and most importand of all THE INACTIVE thats were you usually find

it. lana
